I’m so excited! Playground Games just announced that Forza Horizon 6 is officially gold! That means the game is finished and ready to go. It’s launching on Xbox Series X/S and PC through the Xbox app and Steam right away. PlayStation 5 fans will have to wait a bit longer, but they’re hoping to get it out sometime in the second half of 2026. I can’t wait to start racing!
With the release of Forza Horizon 6 getting closer, the developers at Playground Games have been revealing more and more about the game. They recently previewed Horizon Play, the multiplayer mode, promising a mix of classic and fresh experiences. Now, they’ve announced that the game is finished with development and shared details about the in-game music and new rewards players can earn.
Forza Horizon 6 Is Being Pressed Onto Discs
Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 6 has officially gone gold – meaning it’s been sent to be printed on discs and is available digitally! Players who pre-ordered the game, or have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, can now download Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X/S and PC through the Xbox app. While preloading isn’t available on Steam just yet, the developers confirmed it will be added shortly.
To install Forza Horizon 6, you’ll need 135 GB of free space on Xbox Series X, and a bit less – 130 GB – on Xbox Series S. The PC version is much larger, requiring 160 GB of storage and an SSD. We don’t yet know how much space the PS5 version will need.

Fans Still Have a Chance to Play the Game Early
If you pre-order the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade of Forza Horizon 6, you’ll be able to start playing four days before everyone else. This offer is still available, and pre-orders are also now open for a special *Forza Horizon 6themed Xbox controller and headphones, which you can find on the official Xbox store.
If you preorder any version of Forza Horizon 6, you’ll get a free, specially tuned Ferrari J50 that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

With Forza Horizon 6 now finalized, Playground Games has released more information about what players can expect. They’ve announced a list of artists featured on the game’s radio stations, including popular bands like Linkin Park. The studio also introduced a new Loyalty Reward system, giving players who’ve enjoyed previous Forza games exclusive items and cars. Expect more details soon as the May 19th release date for Xbox Series X/S and PC nears. A PlayStation 5 version is also planned for later in the year.
