FPS From High Profile Studio Delayed With No Timeframe Given

Summary

  • La Quimera’s release got delayed with no explanation, leaving fans in the dark about its status.
  • The studio behind La Quimera faced unforeseen challenges which led to the delay in the game.
  • The game received negative feedback during its beta phase, possibly leading to a significant delay in its release.

As a gamer, I’m all hyped up about the recent launches of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but there’s this other game that was slated to drop a few days back, which unfortunately didn’t make it to the shelves.

The scheduled release date for the game was April 25th, but that day has passed with no sign of the game appearing. Regrettably, the studio behind the game isn’t very active on social media, so it’s possible many gamers are unaware of its current status.

Former Metro Devs’ Latest Game Gets Delayed Indefinitely

The game I’m talking about is “La Quimera,” which is the newest creation from the renowned studio 4A Ukrain, recognized for their successful Metro series. Originally planned for release on April 25th, there’s been no sign of it so far, and the developers have yet to announce a new launch date.

Information about the game’s development is primarily shared through the developer’s Discord server, as there are no updates on the Steam page or any official social media accounts like Twitter or X. Consequently, those not part of the Discord community might miss out on the latest developments.

Dmytro Lymar, CEO and co-founder of Reburn, expressed his regrets for the unanticipated hold-up in delivering La Quimera to our loyal fans and backers. He explained that the game’s development, being their initial project as an independent studio, has presented some unexpected hurdles. The team is making every effort to tackle these issues promptly while also dealing with the unique circumstances they face here in Ukraine.

The head of the studio indicates they’ll provide further information on their social media platforms as quickly as they can, but they didn’t specify when exactly we might expect an update or release date.

It’s unusual that there’s no clarity about the reason behind the delay in releasing this game. Could it be due to an unexpected issue cropping up at the last minute, such as a bug that halted the game? Or perhaps, some aspects of the game didn’t work as intended and required additional development time to fix?

It seems the delay in La Quimera’s closed beta from April 12 to April 19 (thanks to PC Gamer) might be related to quality concerns. Those who got a chance to play the beta before release didn’t have great things to say about it, leading to its removal only a day after launch.

It seems quite likely that La Quimera will encounter a substantial delay, which could be the reason behind Reburn not disclosing any updates about the game. As soon as we have more information, we’ll make sure to share it with our audience.
