MADFINGER Games’ team has recently disclosed upcoming adjustments to the core gameplay mechanics in Gray Zone Warfare. This open-ended extraction shooter, launched nearly a year back, offers both PvE (Player vs Environment) and PvP (Player vs Player) combat experiences. However, these updates are intended to significantly enhance rewards and frequency of player-versus-player encounters, making them more enticing.
The experience kicks off when ‘PvP Zones’ are triggered, offering larger dangers yet highly rewarding battles within the vast open world of Lamang.
Every Move Matters
For quite some time now, members of the Gray Zone Warfare community have been yearning for additional Player versus Player (PvP) mechanics. Notably, MADFINGER Games is renowned for prioritizing its community above all else. Consequently, the forthcoming adjustments in the upcoming Winds of War update are primarily geared towards enhancing PvP gameplay.
In this game update, the team is adding Player versus Player (PvP) Zones that appear randomly when fighting occurs. When you trigger one of these zones, everything within it becomes enhanced – both the level of activity and the experience points earned. This implies that once a battle begins in the zone, it tends to persist until all players have left or the zone has been depleted, attracting every player to join the conflict.

Additionally, Combat Outposts (COPs) are being incorporated into Gray Zone Warfare. Essentially, this means seizing, holding, and safeguarding these areas. This mechanic brings about shifting locations for enemy encounters and territories that can be seized and controlled whenever desired. A faction can conquer these points and defend them from both AI and human adversaries. They can use these locations as respawn points, vendor spots, and to access additional critical services on the fly.
In the realm of Gray Zone Warfare, which belongs to the tactical extraction shooter genre, most games focus heavily on Player vs Player (PvP) interactions over other aspects. However, in this game set in the world of Lamang, you’ll find that the AI-controlled enemy groups are just as threatening as ever. But now, it’s crucial to stay extra vigilant since potential player threats could be hiding within the jungle foliage.
Gray Zone Warfare is available exclusively on PC.
