In this captivating title, “Once Upon A Puppet” follows the tale of Nieve, a fallen stagehand, and Drev, a young puppet, who are mysteriously tied together by enchanted strings.
To preserve the enchanting realm of their theater, duo Nieve and Drev need to collaborate in overcoming challenges and dodging harmful adversaries. Demonstrated in the free trial version of “Once Upon A Puppet“, players command both Stagehand (Drev) and Puppet (Nieve) simultaneously. While controlling Drev primarily for movement, players can utilize Nieve to pick up items and shift or move heavy obstacles that Drev cannot manage alone. Additionally, a recent gameplay video of “Once Upon a Puppet” showcased a crossbow weapon, wielded by Nieve, with Drev aiming to eliminate targets and create a clear path ahead.
Game Rant recently had a chat with a team member from the creators of “Once Upon A Puppet” to delve into different aspects of the game, particularly focusing on the relationship between Nieve and Drev and how it’s manifested in gameplay. They mentioned that it required numerous adjustments to ensure the bond between the two main characters seemed authentic, while maintaining a balance between controlling a puppet and dealing with its spontaneous actions. According to the developer, this balance was crucial.

In the game Once Upon A Puppet, the unique characteristics of the puppet, Drev, are fully exploited in an innovative manner.
