This hashrate high-jinks coincides with a mining difficulty increase of 6.81%, essentially telling new miners, “Hey, you think you can handle this? Prove it!” The current hashprice, aka the daily return for 1 petahash per second (PH/s) of SHA256 hashpower, stands at $46.16 per PH/s – down 11.15% since March 5, because, you know, crypto volatility 📉.

At this breakneck pace, the network only needs to add a mere 117 EH/s to cross the coveted threshold of 1 zettahash per second (ZH/s). Mark your calendars for 2025, folks! 🎉 Currently, we’re at 883 EH/s, which translates to a mind-boggling 883 quintillion hashes per second (H/s) or 0.883 ZH/s. And the mining pool leaderboard looks like this: Foundry is in the lead with 32.33% of the global hashrate, followed by Antpool (17.22%), Viabtc (15.02%), and F2pool (8.97%).
