The highly anticipated life simulation game, Paralives, will become available in Early Access on May 25, 2026, bringing it to Steam after a long wait. Originally announced in June 2019 with a planned December 2025 release, the game was delayed based on feedback from playtesters who felt it needed more work. After seven years in development and regular updates for its community, this indie game is launching with over one million wishlists on Steam.
Paralives began as one person’s project, but it quickly grew into a small team called Paralives Studio. From the very start, the game has been shaped by what players want, with the developers regularly asking their supporters on Patreon and the wider community for ideas, opinions through polls, and feedback via surveys. This collaborative approach means Paralives takes the best elements from popular life simulation games and adds exciting new features that fans will love.
Paralives Launches In Early Access
The indie life simulation game Paralives will launch on Steam on May 25, 2026, and will cost $39.99 during its Early Access phase. The developers have announced the price will likely increase when the full game is released. They’ll be using Steam’s regional pricing system, but will monitor prices closely to ensure fairness, particularly in regions like Poland. The game’s FAQ also confirms that all future updates and expansions will be free – there will be no paid downloadable content. Paralives is currently planned for PC and Mac on Steam, with no immediate plans to release versions for consoles, phones, or tablets.
Even though it’s still in Early Access, Paralives already offers a lot of features comparable to other life simulation games. It has powerful yet easy-to-use tools for customization, letting you design homes and personalize everything down to the color of objects. The game focuses on three main areas: Build Mode, where you create detailed houses; Paramaker, for in-depth character and pet customization; and Live Mode, a complex life simulation system where characters live their lives, with or without your control. Plus, Paralives will launch with tools for modding and support for custom content from the Steam Workshop.
The development team for Paralives has revealed a detailed plan for future updates, both during and after the Early Access period. They’re planning to add features like dynamic weather and seasons, pets, vehicles, and more in-depth storylines for the game’s characters. Players can also look forward to activities like gardening and fishing, the ability to host events like weddings, expanded building options, and even the option to customize the genetics of their Parafolks. While the developers currently estimate Early Access will last around two years, they emphasize that this timeline could shift as they continue to add content and features before the official version 1.0 release.

Many players of games like The Sims are really looking forward to Paralives because of all the features and ways you can customize the game. But the biggest question is whether the game’s ‘Live Mode’ – where your Sims live their lives automatically – will be as detailed and realistic as promised.
