Hogwarts Legacy 2 Reveal Reportedly Coming in June

After the huge success of the open-world game Hogwarts Legacy – which was based on the Harry Potter universe and became 2023’s best-selling game – a sequel was widely expected. Warner Bros., the game’s publisher, confirmed a year ago that Hogwarts Legacy 2 was a high priority, and now reports suggest we’ll find out more about it very soon.

It’s important to remember that the source of this information hasn’t always been reliable, so take it with a grain of salt. According to a user named Tidux on X (formerly Twitter), a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy might be revealed at PlayStation’s State of Play event next month on June 2nd. Given the close relationship between Warner Bros. and PlayStation, that would be a logical place for such an announcement.

Sony is building excitement for its upcoming State of Play presentation, and is even showing it in some US movie theaters. The event will last over an hour and include news, brand-new game reveals, and other exciting announcements. So far, only Marvel’s Wolverine has been confirmed to be featured, leaving fans to guess what other surprises Sony has in store.

Hogwarts Legacy, released in 2023, was a huge hit with both critics and players, even outselling popular games like Call of Duty. This success has spurred the development of a new third-person Lord of the Rings game, backed financially by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, which aims to compete directly with Hogwarts Legacy. It’s currently unknown whether this new Lord of the Rings game is the same one Warhorse Studios, known for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, recently announced they are creating.
