In Paralives, you can help sick Parafolks get better by making Chicken Noodle Soup or taking them to a Health Center. There are multiple ways to treat illness, so you can choose the method you prefer. Here’s a guide on how to cure sickness in the game.

How To Cure Sickness In Paralives

The Digestive System Virus can be cured in two ways: by making and eating Chicken Noodle Soup, or by taking your Para to a Health Center. This virus is caught randomly when your Para goes to work or returns from school. It lasts for 12 hours and also disrupts their normal needs, like hunger or energy.

Because the character is very ill, they won’t feel much hunger. Their need for sleep and using the bathroom will also be lessened, as they are unable to rest comfortably.

As a big fan, I’ve learned that if a healthy character comes into contact with a sick one, they’ll catch the illness too! This virus spreads really easily, so it’s super important to deal with it quickly and well. If you can’t cure them right away, definitely try to keep the sick character isolated from everyone else to prevent it from spreading.

To quickly heal your Paralives, simply take them to any Health Center. You can find these by zooming out to the Town view and looking for the plus (+) symbol.

Zoom in onto the building and choose Seek Care while controlling the sick Para.

Once the treatment is complete, you’ll receive a message confirming the character is healed. Any previously altered needs will then return to normal.

You can also help a character recover from the Digestive System Virus if they have the “Good at Taking Care of Others” Social Perk. This perk allows them to ease the discomfort and negative feelings of other characters.

If you’re controlling a Sim with the ‘Good at Taking Care of Others’ trait, you can click on the fridge and choose to ‘Make Chicken Noodle Soup’. This recipe only makes one serving, so you’ll need to cook more if multiple Sims are sick. Unlike going to the hospital, the soup doesn’t instantly cure illness, but it will reduce the time remaining on the sickness status effect.

If players aren’t happy with either way to cure the Digestive System Virus, they can use a cheat code. Open the cheat console by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C, then type CLEARSTATUSEFFECTS. Keep in mind this will remove all temporary effects from your Para, not just the sickness – things like happiness or excitement will also be reset.
