As an experienced gamer with countless hours spent in the mystical realm of Hyrule, I must say that the ‘One Soldier Too Many’ side quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has been one of my most engaging and intriguing adventures yet. The attention to detail in this quest is truly commendable, making it feel like a part of the broader narrative rather than just an arbitrary task.
As a fan, before embarking on the “One Soldier Too Many” side quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, players need to first complete the Hyrule Castle dungeon and repair the rift in town. Once everything has settled back to normal in Hyrule Castle Town, you’ll notice a pair of guards stationed at the southern entrance/exit. To initiate the ‘One Soldier Too Many’ quest, approach the guard with the red bubble hovering above him and engage in conversation. This guide will walk you through the steps to complete it and reveal the reward waiting for you.
One Soldier Too Many Guide – Echoes of Wisdom
Approach the guard and you’ll discover his name is Beecher. General Wright has instructed him to identify the new guard who has arrived from the rift. They suspect there might be a stranger lurking about who doesn’t belong, so it’s Zelda’s task to uncover the mystery behind this situation.
Start by approaching the guard stationed on the bridge to your left, which is near the well and in front of the barracks. Using the technique of water block echoes, we managed to communicate with him.
The soldier tells Zelda that each guard’s equipment is kept and maintained at the Barracks, so she ought to look around to make sure there isn’t any missing gear.
Step into the barracks and converse with the soldier on duty. It turns out that one of the local soldiers has broken gear, which appears to be the imposter among them. Fortunately, tracking down the fraud won’t take you too far from here.
Step outside and engage the guard stationed near the well. Take a closer look, and you’ll notice that the tip of his spear appears to be missing.
Head back inside the barracks to answer some questions from Beecher to find who the fake guard is.
