The current Precious Pals event in Pokémon GO, which ends January 25th at 8 PM local time, is bringing Shiny versions of Fidough and its evolved form, Dachsbun, to the game for the very first time.
This guide explains how to get the puppy and dog Pokémon featured in two collection challenges during the Pokémon GO event. We’ll cover how to complete ‘In Knead of Friend’ and earn the rewards, as well as detail the second challenge, ‘Little Friends, Big Potential.’

How to Get Fidough and Dachsbun
To finish the ‘In Knead of a Friend’ challenge in Pokémon GO, you need to catch a Fidough and then evolve it into Dachsbun by using 50 Fidough Candy.
The rewards for completing this challenge are…
- 5000 XP
- An encounter with another Fidough
- 5000 Stardust
Wondering how to get a Fidough? There are five ways to do so during the Precious Pals event.
- If you cough up $5 in the in-game shop for the Premium ticket for special timed research, you’ll be able to get an encounter with Fidough after the six tasks are completed. The tasks involve earning hearts with your Buddy Pokemon, feeding your Buddy, and taking a picture of your Buddy.
- The second way to get Fidough is through a regular field spawn encounter. Fidough is one of the Pokemon that should appear more often as the event goes on. Remember, it ends on January 25 at 8 pm local time!
- The third way is to try hatching 2 km eggs. Fidough is one of the five Pokemon that will hatch during the event. The other Pokemon are Golden, Togepi, Riolu, and Happiny (so you just need to get lucky!)
- The fourth way to encounter Fidough is by completing one of the Field Research Tasks, specifically the one that asks you to earn Candy while exploring with a Buddy. (If you need a guide on how Buddy Pokemon work, we got you covered)
- And last but not least, you can simply complete the other collection challenge (Little Friends, Big Potential). Fidough is one of the rewards for catching a Magikarp, Stufful, Swablu, and Wimpod (all of which appear as increased spawns during the event). You will also earn 5000 XP and 5000 Stardust for its completion –same as the first collection challenge.
