How to Get Kuku Bismuth Spear in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, the Bismuth Spear is a unique weapon with a special ability called Bismuth Affinity. When it hits an enemy player, they become petrified – essentially slowed down as if they’re turning to stone.

The Bismuth Spear comes in two forms: a standard version you can find while exploring the game world, and a more powerful, upgraded version called the Kuku Bismuth Spear, which you can create at the Kilnden Workshop. Here’s a guide to obtaining both.

How to Get Bismuth Spear in Crimson Desert

Method #1

You can find the Bismuth Spear in the Well of Enlightenment. This area is situated between Pailune and the Crimson Desert, just south of the Forebearer’s Barrens.

Go to the spot shown on the map, and you’ll arrive at an old, circular well with some ruins around it.

You can find the Bismuth Spear on a weapon stand among the rubble near the well. Simply walk up to it and take it.

The Bismuth Spear can withstand 50 hits before breaking. It also has 3 special charges. Each attack uses one of these charges to coat the enemy in Bismuth, slowing their movement. These charges will refill automatically over time.

If you accidentally attract the attention of the large Queen Bismuth Crab in the arena, or any of the smaller crabs buried in the sand, you won’t be able to collect the Bismuth Spear until they stop attacking you.

Method #2

Once you finish the “Sage of the Desert” questline in Chapter 9 of the main story in Crimson Desert, you can send Comrade Dispatch missions to the Well of Enlightenment – the location where you obtained the Bismuth Spear – to receive additional Bismuth Spears at no cost.

Each time you finish a Dispatch Mission, you’ll receive a Bismuth Spear in your storage. You can’t unlock missions for the Well of Enlightenment until Chapter 9 of the main story, so you’ll only be able to send missions there after that point.

The “Special Weapon: Bismuth Spear Challenge” in the Sealed Abyss asks players to defeat 30 enemies with the Bismuth Spear. But, since the spear only lasts for 50 uses, it will break before you can finish the challenge.

If you want to beat 30 enemies, you’ll need more than one Bismuth Spear—the one you find in the open world isn’t enough on its own.

How to Craft Kuku Bismuth Spear in Crimson Desert

The Kuku Bismuth Spear is a powerful upgrade to the Bismuth Spear. It boasts 20 Bismuth attack charges (compared to just 3 on the original), attacks faster, and never breaks. Plus, you can further improve it through refining.

How to Get the Kuku Bismuth Spear Recipe

Finish the main mission “Time to Face Justice” in Chapter 7 of the Twisted Fate storyline. This involves finding and defeating Ludvig.

Go to the designated spot in Wayward Woods, which is just west of the letter “A” on the Pailune map.

Ignite the brazier near the cold woman. This will trigger a cutscene, after which she will vanish.

Head to Crimson Lake in the Silver Wolf Mountains. You’ll find it west of the letter “N” on the Pailune map. Once there, go inside the house to find the Witch of Kindness.

Okay, so I found out you need to chat with the Witch of Kindness! If you choose the “Listen to Request” option when you talk to her, she’ll give you the power to cleanse the Sanctums around here. It’s super important if you want to progress, trust me!

Head to the Sanctum of Solace, which is located just east of the letter “A” of Pailune on the map.

How to Craft Kuku Bismuth Spear

Once you have the recipe for the Kuku Bismuth Spear, head to the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand and speak with Grimnir to begin making it. Here’s what you’ll need to gather:

  • Kuku Spear x1
  • Bismuth Spear x1
  • Small Battery x10
  • Bismuth Ore x4

The recipe for the base Kuku Spear can be obtained by cleansing the Sanctum of Absolution.
