Pokémon Legends: Z-A brings back Mega Evolution, and you’ll be able to Mega Evolve Pokémon like Gyarados! If you have a Gyaradosite, you can transform your Gyarados, and we’ll tell you how to get one.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A features many Mega Evolutions, like two different Mega Charizard forms and the new Mega Greninja. However, many fans will always remember Mega Gyarados as something truly special.
If you’ve trained a Magikarp into a strong Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and want to make it even more powerful by Mega Evolving it into Mega Gyarados using Gyaradosite, here’s everything you need to know.
Where to Find Gyaradosite & Get Mega Gyarados in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Gyaradosite can only be obtained by trading a Quasartico Mega Shard, and you can only buy one of each Mega Stone.
You can access the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange after you’ve defeated Vinnie, climbed the ranks in Z-A Royale, and joined the team working to stop Rogue Mega Evolutions. This all happens when you reach the Quasartico headquarters.
To get to the Mega Shard Exchange, where you can buy Mega Stones for your Pokémon, talk to one of the receptionists at the back of the ground floor of the Quasartico building.
Gyaradosite is a relatively inexpensive Mega Stone, requiring only 240 Mega Shards. Plus, you can easily find and defeat Pokémon around town to collect more Mega Shards.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you can’t trade Pokémon that are holding a Mega Stone, and each Mega Stone can only be obtained once – so buying a Gyaradosite is a permanent purchase. However, you *can* remove the Gyaradosite from a Gyarados and give it to another player, similar to how you’d trade a Shiny Pokémon.
Check the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange often as you play. More Mega Stones will become available for purchase as you explore Lumiose City. Just remember, there are other ways to get Mega Stones too!
