Battlefield 6 Has The Biggest Launch In Series History

Battlefield 6 launched almost a week ago, and Electronic Arts (EA) says it’s the most successful launch in the game’s history.

EA announced that Battlefield 6 has sold more than 7 million copies since launching on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game also saw a huge amount of engagement during its first weekend, with over 172 million online matches played and more than 15 million hours of gameplay watched.

As a huge Battlefield fan, it’s awesome to hear from Byron Beede, the game’s general manager! He basically said that Battlefield 6 – or whatever we’re calling it now – was made *with* us, the players. They really listened to what we had to say throughout the whole process, from the very first ideas to things like Battlefield Labs and that amazing Open Beta. They were totally focused on making this the best Battlefield game ever, and honestly, it feels like they’ve really taken our feedback to heart. And the best part? The first season of new content is coming in just 12 days! I can’t wait!

Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President, also shared his appreciation, saying, “We’re incredibly grateful for the hard work of our Battlefield Studios team and the support of our amazing community, which have both been essential to our success.”

Now that the initial launch is complete, Battlefield Studios is gearing up for Season 1 on October 28th. This update will bring fresh content like new game modes, maps, and weapons. Plus, the popular free-to-play Battle Royale mode is expected to arrive around the same time.
