How to Get the City Town Orchard in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The Orchard is a key location for collecting cooking ingredients in the new Hello Kitty Island Adventure City Town DLC. It’s where you’ll find most of the unique fruits only available in City Town, and you’ll need these to fulfill orders at the Imagination Cafe and feed your Hungry Figments.

This guide will walk you through the quests needed to unlock the Orchard in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and explain how to finish each one. We’ll also cover wait times between quests and all the different fruits you can grow there.

How to Unlock the Orchard in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To unlock the Orchard in City Town, you need to finish all three of Keroppi’s quests for that area.

  • Outside the Block
  • Branching Out
  • Tree-Mendous Tastes

The tasks aren’t complicated, but they’ll require a few days to finish. After you complete the “Branching Out” quest, you’ll need to consistently water the trees over several days to ensure they grow properly.

How to Complete the Outside the Block quest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To begin the “Outside the Block” quest, you first need to upgrade the Imagination Cafe to level 8. Once it’s upgraded, talk to Keroppi on the Resort Docks. He’ll tell you he and Badtz-Maru were discussing Usahana opening shops around town, and that he’d like to open one too.

Keroppi is going to City Town, so you need to go there too. Look for him standing near the fog at the edge of town and talk to him. He’ll tell you he feels responsible for taking care of the town, and that will give him an idea. He’ll then start running around all over City Town!

Keep up with him as he moves from place to place. When he pauses, speak to him to get directions to where he’s going next. He’ll be stopping at these locations:

  • City Critter Park.
  • The field on the left side of City Town.
  • The rooftops above the Imagination Cafe.

Once Keroppi gets to the roof of the Imagination Cafe, he’ll announce it’s the ideal spot for a new orchard. To begin, you’ll need to find some good soil. Head to Merry Meadows and speak with Wish Me Mell to get started.

Wish Mell can create the soil you need if you give them 100 bags of Fertilizer. Once the trade is done, Usahana will tell you to look on the rooftops – they’ll be covered with soil, ready for the Orchard to be planted.

Checking out the dirty rooftops finishes the “Outside the Blocks” quest and starts the next one, “Branching Out.”

How to Complete the Branching Out Quest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To start the “Branching Out” quest, first find Keroppi in the Spooky Swamp and speak to him. He’ll ask you to visit Usahana in City Town, so you’ll need to travel there. Once in City Town, look for Keroppi near the Orchard’s plot by the City Rooftop mailbox.

Continue the quest by speaking with Keroppi. Then, Usahana will arrive and tell you she discovered a small tree, called an Apple Sapling, in City Town. She’ll give it to you, and your next task is to search City Town for more saplings.

Players can find 7 tree saplings hidden around City Town. They’re quite big and noticeable, making them easy to find as you explore.

Lychee Between two crosswalks on the right side of City Town.
Cherry On the street by the southern fountain.
Pear On the street by the northern fountain.

Mango On the roof beneath the Orchard.

After collecting all seven saplings, speak to Keroppi. Then, return to the Orchard and chat with everyone you find there.

Wishme mell has finished making the mulch you needed for the “Outside the Block” quest, which means you can now plant those saplings you gathered! To plant one, simply go up to a triangular planter and interact with it. Then, select the sapling you want and confirm by pressing accept.

Okay, so I need to interact with all eight of those little tree sprouts first. Once I’ve done that and chatted with Keroppi, a cool Dream creature will actually show up and fly off into the fog. That’s it! Apparently, that’s when the whole quest wraps up, which is awesome.

Water the trees in the Orchard immediately after planting, and continue watering them for the following two days. After those three days, on day four, the trees will be established and the “Tree-Mendous Tastes” quest will become available.

How to Unlock and Complete the Tree-Mendous Tastes Quest

Once you’ve planted the new trees in the Orchard, remember to water them for the following two days. Then, on day four, you can begin the “Treemendous Tastes” quest by speaking with Usahana. Go back up to the Orchard to find her and start the quest.

Now, head to the Orchard and collect some fruit from the trees. After you’ve gotten fruit from at least one tree, go back and talk to Usahana. She’ll share her fondness for Sandos and give you the recipe during your conversation.

You’ll receive both the Sando and Whipped Cream recipes, which will finish the “Treemendous Tastes” quest.

Once you finish these tasks, you’ll be able to find more young trees in City Town. You can collect them and plant them in the remaining planters in the Orchard.

What Fruits Grow in the City Town Orchard in Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

You’ll receive your initial 8 fruit tree saplings for the Orchard by completing the “Branching Out” quest. Three days after that, once you finish the “Treesome Tastes” quest, you can find more saplings around City Town to fill the extra spaces in your Orchard. Here are the fruits you’ll be able to grow:
