How to Get the ‘Grunge Metal’ Trophy/ Achievement in Mixtape

Although Mixtape is generally easy to play, it’s possible to miss some achievements or trophies. Some are obvious, but the ‘Grunge Metal‘ achievement is trickier. The game asks you to make Slater’s secret slushy, but never actually tells you what’s in it! After some experimentation and a few tries, I figured out the recipe. Now, I can share it with you, so you can unlock the ‘Grunge Metal Alchemist’ achievement on your first playthrough of Mixtape.

How to Make Slater’s Secret Slushy Recipe for Mixtape’s Grunge Metal Alchemist Trophy/ Achievement

In ‘Chapter 8: Ultimate Slushie’, you’ll learn how to create Slater’s famous slushy by combining these flavors:

  • Blue Crush
  • Bubblegum
  • Orange
  • Lime

It doesn’t matter in what order you add the flavors, or how much of each one you use. Just make sure all four flavors are in the cup, and you’ll get the achievement/trophy!

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter who I use to make Slater’s ultimate slushy – any character will do! The important thing is that I actually make it. Once I do, I get the achievement, and Slater even gives a shout-out to my amazing slushy. It’s awesome!

After you combine the items, Slater will reveal its real name – “The Super Secret Gonzo Skinny Dipper” – as you zoom in to see your creation. You’ll also instantly unlock the ‘Grunge Metal Alchemist’ trophy or achievement. This means you don’t have to wait until the end of the chapter or scene to get it, as long as you’ve combined the items correctly.

Where to Find Slater’s Secret Slushie Recipe

This trophy or achievement is challenging because the secret recipe isn’t available until you reach the ‘Slater’s House’ chapter. You’ll find it posted on the wall next to Slater’s bed, as you can see in the image below.

Basically, you won’t get this trophy or achievement on your first time playing unless you’re using a guide like this one and know about it when you get to the “Ultimate Slushie” part of the game.

If you miss the ‘Grunge Metal’ trophy or achievement during your first time playing, you can easily replay the specific chapter where it’s found using the chapter select option on the main menu. Because this chapter is short and only involves making slushies, it’s quick to try again and again until you succeed.
