In Crimson Desert, wielding a Chainsaw will seriously boost your style. While you can use these One-Handed Chainsaws to defeat enemies, we think they’re best suited for chopping wood!
Here’s a simple guide to getting the Chainsaw in Crimson Desert and using it effectively – making sure it’s worth the effort!
The Chainsaw will only be available to make after Chapter 10 of the Main Quest.
How to Get the Chainsaw in Crimson Desert
Unlock the Chainsaw Research Request
- Head to Dewhaven Keep in Delesyia to find Heinrik, the Dewhaven Research Institute vendor.
- To get the Chainsaw, you must complete “Electricity – Movement Conversion Mechanism Research”.
- In order to do so, you must first complete “Dewhaven Keep Facility Research”.
- You can check any prerequisites of the Research Requests by selecting the “Ironwheel of Dewhaven” tab in the Delesyia Faction Quests.
Unlock the Chainsaw Dispatch Mission
- After 6 hours, this Research Request will be completed, and it’s time to visit Ross at the Howling Hill Camp.
- Speak to Ross to start the Mission Dispatch: Delesyia: Steelspike Armory: Chainsaw Production.
- This task will require the following:
- x2 Members
- 2.5K Camp Weapons
- 2.5K Camp Food
- 10K Camp Funds
- Upon completing the Chainsaw Production Dispatch Mission, you can check your Private Storage chest in the Howling Hill camp’s tent to find the Demenissian Chainsaw.
If you’re having trouble starting the dispatch mission, double-check that you’ve physically gone to the Steelspike Armory. It’s marked on the map above.

- The Demenissian Chainsaw is a one-handed weapon, but it’s less useful for actually attacking enemies and more useful for logging timber.
- The Chainsaw should be used as a tool, and it will help almost instantly destroy trees, and automatically mine the resources available from them, with Timber and Fine Timber being the main focus.
- While the Chainsaw can have 5 Abyss Gears, we recommend only using ones that will add even more Timber.
