The Imagination Cafe is a fantastic addition to the new City Town update in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Players can unlock and create lots of new recipes there, like Mochi, Dango, and Boba Tea. However, you’ll need to complete certain tasks before you can start enjoying everything the cafe has to offer.

To open the Imagination Cafe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you need to become friends with Usahana and finish the “A Whole New Menu” quest. This guide will show you exactly what you need to do to unlock the cafe and start cooking right away.

How to Improve Your Friendship with Usahana

You can begin the “A Whole New Menu” quest by becoming friends with Usahana and raising your friendship level to 3. Once you reach Level 3, she’ll give you a Modern Vase, which will start the quest.

To become better friends with Usahana, you need to give her gifts she’ll love. Early in the friendship, though, it can be tricky to find the right presents. The simplest gift to give her is the Colorpillar – a little rainbow caterpillar you can buy in City Town.

As a huge fan, I’ve figured out the best spots to catch Colorpillars in City Town! You can find them in two main areas. First, check the field on the left side of town – it’s where that Nul is that keeps track of your Figments. The other great place is City Critter Park, way on the right side, just after you cross the little bridge. They just naturally wander around on the grass in both spots, so keep your net handy!

How to Unlock the Imagination Cafe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To start the quest, talk to Usahana after you’ve unlocked “A Whole New Menu.” She’ll ask if you want to join her trip to Friendship Island. After your conversation, she’ll head to the island on her own. To catch up with her, you can either take the boat back to Friendship Island or fast travel to the Resort Plaza.

You can find Usahana at the Resort Plaza, near the Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Tuxedosam statues. Chat with Hello Kitty – she’ll greet Usahana and welcome them to Friendship Island. Then, Hello Kitty will invite Usahana to her cafe for a treat, so be sure to follow them!

At the cafe, you’ll need to bake three treats for Usahana: Mama’s Apple Pie, Pineapple Stack Cake, and Strawberry Shortcake. Use the cafe’s oven to bake everything, and then give the desserts to Usahana. Once you’ve done that, the three of you will go to Chococat’s house.

When you chat with Chococat at his house, he’ll explain that he can’t find any maps of the island where City Town is located. He’s busy studying things, but he’s running out of supplies. To continue the conversation, you’ll need to give him 10 Mechanisms and 10 Sparks.

Once you’ve finished talking to Chococat, Usahana will quickly head to the nearest mailbox and go back to City Town. To continue the quest, you’ll need to follow her.

When you get back to City Town, you’ll find Usahana waiting for you in front of the Imagination Cafe. She’s going to ask you to take over the cafe, but she’ll immediately notice the door is locked and she’s lost the key. She thinks it must be hidden somewhere close to the cafe.

To find the Colorful Key, head to the rooftops above the Imagination Cafe. The easiest way to get there is by taking the glass elevator on the right side of town. You’ll find it between a purple building and the bridge to City Critter Park. The elevator will take you up to the roof of the purple building.

Once you’re on the first rooftop, take the elevator directly above the one you used to get up here. Walk to your left and you’ll find a platform with the City Rooftop Mailbox, and next to it, another platform with a key on it. Grab the Colorful Key, and then go back to Usahana.

If you give Usahana the Colorful Key, she’ll unlock the cafe for you both. She’ll explain a bit about it, and then share the Rice Flour Recipe so you can try out the Chef Station. After you’ve cooked 10 servings of Rice Flour, just chat with Usahana again.

Making the Rice Flour Recipe twice will give you enough Rice Flour for 10 servings, as each batch makes 5.

Now that you’ve had success with Rice Flour, Usahana wants to share a Mochi Recipe with you! To make Mochi, you’ll need Rice Flour and any flavor ingredient you like. Simply combine them, and then bring the finished Mochi back to Usahana.

Usahana will chat with you about the Mochi before asking to try it. Once you give her the Mochi and hear her final lines, you’ll finish the quest.

Finishing this task unlocks the Chef’s Station at the cafe. However, to actually open the cafe to customers, you’ll also need to complete Usahana’s Imagination Cafe quest.
