As a seasoned veteran of the Call of Duty universe, I must say that Black Ops 6 has truly outdone itself with the introduction of Omnimovement. It’s like they’ve taken the best parts of my favorite parkour games and seamlessly integrated them into this beloved franchise.
Black Ops 6 enhances its mobility aspect by incorporating a new feature called Omnimovement. This allows players to glide, roll, and move fluidly in all directions. Unlike previous Call of Duty titles which featured a two-way movement system.
No doubt, Omnimovement is great news for those who love quick maneuvers, but it can be tricky for gamers who prefer a laid-back approach. Here’s a rundown on what you need to know about Omnimovement, along with some handy Black Ops 6 tips to help you make the most of it.
What is Omnimovement in CoD: Black Ops 6?
In Black Ops 6, you’ll experience a revolutionary method of navigation dubbed Omnimovement, enabling you to traverse in any direction at your whim. This game reintroduces maneuvers from Modern Warfare 2019, such as Dolphin Dives, Tactical Sprints, and Slides, but with a fresh twist called Omnimovement. Each of these moves has been subtly adjusted to blend seamlessly into the new feature.
Below is how each of them works with Omnimovement and how you can perform them:
Tactical Sprint
In essence, Tactical Sprint in BO6 temporarily enhances your short-term sprinting ability. To activate it, players must press the sprint key again. Keep in mind that this effect doesn’t last as long as it used to in Black Ops 6, so it’s best to use it sparingly during critical situations, such as escaping a dangerous predicament, rather than using it casually for general movement.
Here are some settings we recommend tweaking for the Slide mechanic:
- Turn Toggle Sprint Assist off. But if you prefer to keep it on, set Sprint Assist Delay to 2 and make sure that the other advanced options for this tab are on.
- Set Tactical Sprint Activation to Single Tap Run if you’re not using Toggle Sprint Assist.
Slide
With Omnimovement, you’ll be able to glide or move smoothly in any direction. To initiate this movement, simply press and hold the crouch key while running. We suggest adjusting the following settings for optimal Slide experience:
- Set Slide/Dive Behavior to Hybrid. This way, you can slide by just tapping the button and dive by tapping while sprinting.
- Turn on Slide Maintains Sprint.
Dolphin Dive
As a die-hard Call of Duty fan, I must say that Black Ops 6 has given the classic Dolphin Dive a fresh twist. Unlike in previous CoD games where we could only navigate underwater without attacking, this time around, we can fire at opponents while performing the dive maneuver, adding an exhilarating layer of combat to our aquatic escapades!
To perform a Dolphin Dive, hold down the crouch button while you are sprinting.
Mantle
In Battlefield 6, though not strictly referred to as Omnimovement, there’s a significant movement technique at play. This technique allows players to scale walls or obstacles roughly at chest level. To execute this move, simply press the jump button.
