Epic Games has finally incorporated the much anticipated proximity chat function into Fortnite, but with a condition. This exciting new feature is available for certain game modes, enabling players to communicate with their friends and fellow gamers more closely than ever before.

How to use Fortnite proximity chat
- Create an Island in UEFN and join in.
- Head to Island Settings and go to ‘Mode.’
- Unroll the Voice Chat section.
- Toggle on the Proximity Chat.
- Make sure to also set the Full Volume and Falloff Distances.
- Go to Overview and press ‘Create Island Backup’ to apply changes.

In Fortnite Battle Royale and Zero Build, players currently don’t have proximity chat functionality.
