Plimbo is a character you can find in the Smuggler’s Sanctuary in Cult of the Lamb after you first visit Anchordeep. He’s a sailor and smuggler who frequently mentions his partner and mother-in-law, even though they don’t actually appear in the game.
The Smuggler’s Sanctuary is where you can purchase tarot cards and decorations for your Anchordeep base, but its main purpose is to allow you to sell Eye of the Witness to Plimbo. Each Eye you sell gets you one piece of a Holy Talisman. These talismans are used to unlock new Fleece forms with different powers. Initially, you can give Plimbo four Eyes, and by defeating more bosses, you can give him up to four more, letting you earn a total of eight talisman fragments – enough for two new Fleeces.
Okay, so after you, as The Lamb, manage to complete the whole quest in Woolhaven and bring Plimbo that… rather unpleasant Rotten Eye of the Witness, he’s seriously grossed out and refuses to accept it. That means you’re back to square one, and you’ll have to figure out a different way to actually use the thing in the Woolhaven DLC for Cult of the Lamb. It’s a bit of a setback, honestly!
How To Use Rotten Eye Of The Witness In Woolhaven DLC
In the Cult of the Lamb Woolhaven DLC, players need to locate the Stranger in Spore Grotto to use the Rotten Eye of the Witness.
The item description says Plimbo is looking to buy the Eye, but when you speak to him, he says he’s not interested in the Rotten Eye of the Witness. He suggests someone in the Spore Grotto might be a buyer instead.
You don’t have to speak to Plimbo first to meet the Stranger.
Stranger? Location In Cult Of The Lamb Woolhaven DLC
You can find a hidden character, the Stranger, in the top-right corner of the first room of Spore Grotto. If you talk to them, you’ll begin the “Talking to Strangers” quest. To complete it, you need to give the Stranger two Rotten Eyes of the Witness.
Defeating the first Rotten Eye boss will give you the Idol of the Immolated Relic. This item is single-use, meaning you can only use it once. When activated, it transforms all of your hearts into Molten Hearts, causing enemies to take burn damage whenever they attack you.
Defeating the second Rotten Eye boss reveals a Relic that works in a similar way. The Veil of the Unmoved replaces your hearts with Frozen Hearts, chilling any enemy that attacks you.
Both Relics are exclusive to the Woolhaven DLC.
