Iggy Azalea Insists She’s No Rug-Puller as Her Token Surges 1,000% in Week

As an analyst with extensive experience in the cryptocurrency market, I have witnessed firsthand the meteoric rise and fall of numerous meme coins. In the case of Iggy Azalea’s Mother Iggy (MOTHER) coin, while it is true that the Australian rapper has denied being a rug-puller, the lack of a clear value proposition remains a significant concern.

In a new interview with Fortune, Iggy Azalea, the Australian rapper who recently made headlines with her meme coin, clarified that she does not engage in rug pulls.

I’m tasked with exploring practical applications for the viral Mother Iggy (MOTHER) digital currency, which could ensure its longevity in the market.

Azalea intends to turn the memecoin into a stablecoin, according to her Fortune interview.

An Australian rapper, renowned for her chart-topping hits like “Fancy” and other popular singles in 2014, reveals she had been quietly monitoring cryptocurrencies since 2020. Her decision to enter the crypto world was spurred by a fraudulent attempt to promote a meme coin under her name.

The meme coin based on the MOTHER project, introduced in May’s latter half, created quite a stir due to significant price surges and Azalea’s consistent social media presence filled with provocative images and amusing memes.

As a researcher studying the cryptocurrency market, I observed an intriguing development on Thursday. The market capitalization of MOTHER, a Solana-based token, experienced a significant surge, reaching almost $250 million. This growth was attributed to a large whale investor purchasing a substantial amount of tokens for their portfolio.

Although Iggy Azalea’s cryptocurrency token has generated much excitement, it fails to offer a compelling reason for investment like most meme coins. It’s no wonder that the digital currency has drawn criticism from notable figures in the industry, such as Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

According to U.Today’s news, Buterin criticized the recent surge of meme coins endorsed by celebrities for their insufficient use cases, which led to a retort from Azalea in the form of a mocking meme.

Despite the harsh criticisms directed towards her, Azalea remains undeterred, insisting that tranquility doesn’t benefit meme coins and urging detractors to move aside.
