I’m Afraid Nintendo Switch 2 Has Nothing But Bangers Coming Out Soon

Nintendo recently shared its financial results, revealing some of the games planned for the Switch 2 in 2026 and beyond. The Switch 2 has been very popular since its release last June, with almost 20 million units sold – even more than the original Switch. To maintain this success, Nintendo needs to consistently release new games for players.

Right now, Nintendo hasn’t revealed much about its plans for the Switch 2, which is expected in 2026. Although some information about upcoming games this year has leaked, Nintendo is primarily highlighting titles launching in the coming months. Their recent financial report included updates on future games, and there are several exciting releases on the horizon.

List of Upcoming Switch 2 Exclusive Games

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – May 21
  • Star Fox (2026) – June 25
  • Splatoon Raiders – July 23
  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – TBA 2026
  • Pokemon Winds and Waves – TBA 2027

Nintendo recently shared updates on upcoming games for the Switch 2, though they didn’t announce any entirely new titles. Players can look forward to Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on May 21st, a Switch 2 exclusive, followed by a remake of Star Fox on June 25th. Splatoon Raiders, a new single-player and co-op Splatoon game, will launch on July 23rd. Later this year, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is scheduled for release, and Pokemon Winds and Waves will arrive sometime in 2027. A nice bonus for Switch 2 owners: the console is backward compatible, so you can also play older Switch games like Rhythm Heaven Groove, which comes out on July 2nd.

Nintendo is expected to have a major presentation in June, likely showcasing new games for its upcoming Switch 2 console. However, recent leaks seem to have jumped the gun, revealing some plans early. These leakers have accurately predicted release dates for games like Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders, which adds credibility to their claim that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will be released this summer. They’ve also suggested a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be a major holiday release for the Switch 2, and it will be interesting to see if that turns out to be true.

This is only a small preview of the games coming to the Switch 2. Nintendo’s new console should have a lot of great titles, but it’s still unclear whether players will think the games are worth the higher price of the system.
