InZOI’s April 2025 Update: Age Control & Game-Changing Fixes!

Summary

  • InZOI releases a new update on April 4 with even more improvements.
  • Players can now enable or disable aging thanks to a new gameplay setting.
  • The latest InZOI update also includes fixes for Zois sleeping too long, not eating after cooking, and more.

Krafton, the creators of InZOI, have rolled out a fresh update for their life simulation game in early access, introducing gameplay enhancements, bug fixes, and a much-anticipated feature. At the moment, InZOI can be played exclusively on PC through Steam’s early access program. However, the development team has promised players that they will consistently provide updates with improvements and corrections based on player feedback.

As a thrilled enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about InZOI, the newcomer that surpassed The Sims 4 in concurrent players within just hours of its early access launch on March 28th, peaking at an astounding 87,000 players! At the moment, the game enjoys a “very positive” review rating, boasting over 13,000 reviews from delighted players. Yet, despite the overwhelming love for this Sims competitor, there are still areas requiring refinement and improvements. Luckily, the developers at Krafton have promised regular updates throughout April, addressing numerous fixes and enhancements based on player feedback. The latest update is already available for download, offering even more gameplay adjustments that fans are eagerly anticipating.

April 4th brought a fresh update for the game I adore, InZOI. As per the official notes detailed further in this piece, the new feature that’s caught my eye is the ability to control aging. Now, under the “Simulation” settings, there are two options – one to keep aging active and another to disable it for characters I’ve crafted or those not created by me.

This update also includes a host of other enhancements, such as slowing down the rate at which Karma changes, addressing an issue where Zois were found sleeping excessively long hours, tweaking relationship progression based on community feedback, and much more. It’s exciting to see these continuous improvements!

The latest version of InZOI doesn’t offer any fresh material for players at present, but it has hinted at the inclusion of pets in the future. Although Krafton hasn’t set a precise date for the game’s first significant content update yet, they have mentioned that it will be rolled out some time in May. However, a recent announcement from the game’s director indicates that the team originally planned to release new content updates every two months. Due to player feedback, Krafton now aims to swiftly address reported issues via hotfixes throughout April. It remains uncertain whether this will impact the May update or if the studio is still on schedule.

As an ardent supporter of InZOI, I’m thrilled to share that the blueprint unveiled for our cherished early access game has some exciting new elements in store over the coming months! The first wave of updates kicks off in May, bringing a modding kit, adjustments to weight and muscle mechanics, cheat codes, enhanced relationships, an adoption system, fresh furniture options, and lots more.

Fast forward to August, we’re expecting another update with a captivating “cat island” city, the ability to play as ghostly entities, swimming and pools, an intelligent AI build mode, freelance jobs, and additional surprises.

And that’s not all! Further updates are planned for October and December, each brimming with even more thrilling features and content!

InZOI Patch Notes for April 4 Update

  • Added an age adjustment feature
    • This feature can be configured via [Game Options] → [Simulation], under the settings for “Aging (My Zois)” and “Aging (Other Zois)”
  • Added a detailed error code popup when a Canvas upload fails

Bug Fixes

  • Improved an issue where Zois were sleeping for excessively long periods
    • Sleep patterns were originally designed to reflect real-life behavior, such as sleeping in when tired. However, this level of realism caused friction with the game’s time flow. Sleep duration has now been reduced for smoother gameplay.
  • Slowed the rate of Karma change
    • Karma changes from autonomous actions were occurring too rapidly, leading to frequent mood swings (e.g., sudden anger or aggression). We’ve adjusted the pace for more stable and predictable behavior. Further improvements are planned so Zois act more naturally based on context, and Karma will gradually influence more aspects of life. For now, try adjusting “Civic Consciousness” and “Karma” values in the City Edit menu for better control.
  • Improved an issue where relationship points were accumulating too quickly
    • Relationship progression was previously accelerated to encourage bonding. Based on your feedback, we’ve slowed progression for families under direct control. Since this may not suit all gameplay styles, you can further adjust relationship values in the City Edit menu if needed.
  • Improved behavior so Zois now eat food immediately after cooking
  • Fixed an issue where the “Give Birth” interaction would not proceed when the interaction queue was full
  • Fixed an issue where the pregnancy visual was not properly reflected for Zois with reduced abdominal body shape
  • Fixed an issue where giving birth was not possible if a divorce occurred during the pregnancy test stage
    • Please note that this change only applies to newly created Zois via New Game. It does not affect existing save files or Zois already in progress.
  • Fixed an issue where emotional buffs would sometimes remain after their duration had ended
  • Improved error popup to display file information when a Canvas upload fails
  • Fixed an issue where the toilet sound effect was too long and felt unnatural
  • Improved with a toast message when the family tree is inaccessible
  • Improved with error popups when a JSON object creation error occurs during save file loading
