After a 25-year break, Pokémon-themed Pop-Tarts are back! The first collaboration happened in 2000 with Wild Cherry Pop-Tarts featuring Pokémon sprinkles, timed to coincide with the release of Pokémon: The Movie 2000. They teamed up again a year later for Pokémon 3: Spell of the Unown: Entei, creating a special PokeBerry flavor.
A PokeBerry Pop-Tart flavor was briefly available in 2001, but after that, Pop-Tarts and Pokemon weren’t combined for many years. Now, to celebrate Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, the two brands are teaming up again! You can find the new Pokemon Pop-Tarts exclusively at Target. This time, instead of flavors like Wild Cherry or PokeBerry, they’re trying something completely new.

Target is joining the 30th anniversary celebration of Pokémon with special, exclusive products, including Pop-Tarts! A full range of Pokémon items will be available starting May 2nd online and May 3rd in stores. Because these items are expected to sell out fast – especially given the issues with scalpers in the Pokémon Trading Card Game community – fans should plan to shop early when the collection launches.
The upcoming Pokémon x Target collection will include items like Kanto jackets, Gengar t-shirts, water bottles, a Pokémon keyboard, and tank tops featuring Magikarp and Gyarados. The full collection preview shows fans everything that will be available and how much each item costs.
The new Pokémon collection at Target is just one of the ways The Pokémon Company is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Celebrations also include events within popular Pokémon video games, the release of the relaxing Switch 2 game Pokopia, and the announcement of Winds and Waves, the next generation of Pokémon games coming in 2027 for the Switch 2. Plus, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were recently re-released on the Nintendo Switch for Pokémon Day.
It will be fun to see what else happens to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. We might see more exclusive items in stores, or even classic Pokémon games released on the Switch. There’s been talk that the Game Boy Advance Pokémon titles could come to Switch, but so far, there’s been no official announcement.
