It’s Time To Say Hello To One Piece’s 2 New God Devil Fruits

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

The story of One Piece is nearing its end, and things are incredibly intense right now, especially with all the turmoil happening in Elbaf. The creator, Oda, has been gradually introducing the final villains and setting the stage for a massive war. As we head towards these epic battles, Oda is also showcasing amazing new powers and abilities.

The latest arc of One Piece has revealed several incredibly powerful characters with extraordinary abilities, some bordering on god-like. Fans learned during the Wano arc that special Devil Fruits granting these god-level powers exist, and we’ve already seen a few of them demonstrated. So far in this final saga, the creator has introduced two more of these powerful abilities, with hints that even more may appear as the story continues.

The Nika Fruit Was The First God Devil Fruit In One Piece

  • Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika first appeared in the Wano Country Arc
  • It makes Luffy the Sun God

Although fans were given hints about it earlier, Luffy’s Nika Devil Fruit was the first God-type Devil Fruit fully revealed in One Piece. Who’s Who first mentioned Nika during the Wano Country Arc, but it wasn’t until later in the arc that the fruit’s true power was shown.

Luffy suffered several defeats while fighting Kaido, but the last one proved to be a turning point. When Kaido landed a seemingly fatal blow, Luffy’s heart briefly stopped. This extreme moment allowed his body and mind to finally synchronize with his full potential, triggering the awakening of his Devil Fruit. It was then revealed that Luffy’s Devil Fruit wasn’t what everyone thought – it was actually the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. This awakening transformed Luffy into the Sun God Nika, giving him a new form, Gear 5, and pushing his powers to their absolute limit.

I’ve never witnessed a battle like this. He’s pushing the limits of both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki! — Kaido, observing Luffy’s Gear 5

Gear 5 unlocks incredible power for Luffy, far beyond what he could previously achieve. It also allows him to warp reality itself, limited only by his imagination. He can accomplish seemingly impossible feats simply by visualizing them. This power enabled Luffy to defeat a powerful opponent like Kaido, demonstrating the immense strength granted by the extraordinary Devil Fruits in One Piece.

Since then, Oda has expanded the lore with more Devil Fruits connected to divine powers, and we can expect to see even more revealed as the story progresses. It was recently confirmed that Imu, the world’s ruler, possesses a powerful God Devil Fruit, and during the Elbaf Arc, Loki’s Devil Fruit appeared to have a world-destroying godly ability.

Oda Introduced Imu’s God Devil Fruit In Elbaf

  • Imu’s Devil Fruit is a God power even greater than Nika right now

The Elbaf arc in One Piece has been excellent at showcasing the incredible powers hidden within the series’ world. Initially, fans were captivated by the unique abilities of the Holy Knights. However, the arrival of Imu completely changed the scope of these powers, and in a surprisingly understated way. By possessing Gunko, Imu demonstrated a truly god-like Devil Fruit ability, making it clear just how powerful they are.

The mystery surrounding Imu’s Devil Fruit began during the Reverie Arc in One Piece, where they were shown easily absorbing Sabo’s flames and fatally injuring both Sabo and King Cobra. Recent events in Elbaf have revealed even more of their abilities, and it’s clear that their incredibly powerful Devil Fruit surpasses even Luffy’s in strength.

Imu’s Devil Fruit power revolves around making deals, or Covenants. They can take years off of a person’s life and give them incredible strength in exchange. This Covenant allows Imu to essentially turn anyone into a lifelong slave. Even without using Covenants, Imu can control people with a power called Domi Reversi, forcing them into complete loyalty. This ability is the opposite of Luffy’s Gear 5, which inspires happiness and joy in others.

I’m totally fascinated by Imu! It looks like they have this incredible spell book, and their design is just wild – huge wings and a massive tail! They clearly see themselves as a Demon God, and I’m convinced Oda is going to reveal even more about their Devil Fruit powers – something seriously demonic, I bet – as the story goes on.

Elbaf Also Unveiled Loki’s Legendary Devil Fruit

  • Loki refers to himself as the Sun God
  • His Devil Fruit power is deadly

In the Elbaf arc of One Piece, it was revealed that Loki possesses a powerful Devil Fruit ability, later confirmed by Oda. Fourteen years prior, Loki defeated King Harald of Elbaf using this fruit – a legendary power unique to the country. This Devil Fruit had remained unused for centuries, and Loki was the first person in hundreds of years to awaken its abilities.

The Five Elders are describing King Harald as possessing immense and terrifying power. They believe he’s become virtually indestructible, so powerful he’s beyond even a monster – he’s now simply a devastating force to be reckoned with. — The Five Elders on King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168

We still don’t know exactly what Loki’s Devil Fruit power does, but it’s clearly incredibly strong – potentially even stronger than anything fans have predicted. Recent events in One Piece suggest this power could even hurt Imu. It seems Loki’s ability is on par with Luffy’s Nika form, or even Imu’s own power, making it a truly god-like ability. Fans are eagerly anticipating learning more about it in future chapters.

More God Level Devil Fruits Will Come In Elbaf

Oda is building a formidable group of characters – Nika, Imu, and Loki – who possess incredibly powerful, god-like Devil Fruit abilities. Fans anticipate even more characters with similar powers will appear in One Piece as the story progresses. It’s already suggested that gods representing rain, earth, the sea, and forests exist within the One Piece universe, and just as the Sun God has a unique Devil Fruit power, it’s likely these other gods do as well.

Over time, these incredibly strong Gods will reveal themselves, enriching the already vast history of the One Piece universe and bringing exciting new powers to the story’s climax. Fans are eagerly anticipating what Oda has planned for the final arc and the amazing abilities he’ll introduce.

I’m so excited for the next chapter of One Piece! For those who don’t know, One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they adventure across the seas in search of the ultimate treasure, the One Piece. We’re currently in the Final Saga, which is incredible! Chapter 1172 is coming out this week, on February 1, 2026! It releases in Japan at midnight JST, which means 11:00 AM EST and 8:00 AM PT for us in North America.
