Artificial Detective Is a Sci-Fi Detective Title Crafted by Industry Veterans
Xbox recently unveiled Artificial Detective, a visually stunning neo-noir sci-fi game. The game is the first release from Vivix, a new independent studio created by a team of experienced game developers. These developers have previously worked on well-known titles such as Control, Dead Space, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Vivix also includes artists from the Netflix animated series Love, Death & Robots, which likely contributes to the game’s striking graphics. Artificial Detective will be available on both Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In the futuristic, troubled city of Conglomerate North, the story of Artificial Detective begins. AD 2846, a robotic detective, wakes up to find the city overrun by out-of-control machines, with no memory of his past except for a former human partner. All humans seem to have vanished except for Mowgli, a brilliant young hacker. AD, Mowgli, and their robotic dog, D.A.W.G., must team up to uncover the mystery of what happened to Conglomerate North and why the machines have turned against everyone.
Details are still limited, but Artificial Detective blends action and survival gameplay as players explore a dangerous city. Players control AD, who relies on the unique skills of his companions to navigate the environment and uncover hidden secrets. The team travels in a flying streetcar, which serves as both their home base and mode of transportation. The game’s trailer showcases diverse combat options: D.A.W.G. can stun enemies for surprise attacks or engage in direct combat, while AD can use environmental traps like electrified floors or propane canisters, or simply rely on powerful weapons.
Artificial Detective is shaping up to be a promising sci-fi adventure game. Though it won’t be released until 2027, early looks at the gameplay, story, and graphics suggest it could be a standout title. The trailer hints at a narrative filled with both humor and emotional depth, and fans of dystopian adventures should add it to their Steam wishlist now.
