As a seasoned Pokémon Go trainer who’s been traversing the digital Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos regions since its inception, I must say that this week’s Spotlight Hour has me absolutely buzzing with excitement! The opportunity to catch Joltik en masse is not just a boon for my ever-expanding Pokédex, but also a golden chance to stockpile some valuable candies and Stardust.
During specific weeks, the Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO is a unique event where one particular Pokémon takes center stage, resulting in more frequent encounters of that specific Pokémon. For instance, this week it’s a tiny spider-like creature, whereas last week, two different Pokémons were highlighted for players to catch.
On Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, players will have the opportunity to capture Joltik and enjoy several advantages during this event. During the event, Joltik will have a higher spawn and catch rate, offering players 3 candies and 100 Stardust upon capture. A notable benefit of capturing this Pokemon is that players will receive double XP for both catching and evolving them. In addition, using a Lucky Egg during the event can help players catch even more Joltik in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO Joltik Spotlight Hour Guide
Originating from a split of two, Joltik is identified as number #595 and can be found in the Unova Region within Pokemon GO’s Pokedex. This unique creature falls under the category of Duo Pokemon, a type that embodies characteristics of both Electric-type and Bug-type Pokemon. To reach its final form, Galvantula, Joltik requires 50 Candies for evolution. During the event, players can accumulate this number of candies quite efficiently by transferring excess Joltik Pokemon, as well as earning three more candies simply by capturing it initially.
Joltik, with its higher CP level, absorbs more damage from Fire-type and Rock-type attacks (an increased 160%) and less damage from Electric, Fighting, Grass, and Steel-type attacks (only 63%). For optimal moveset, use Sucker Punch for a Normal-type attack and Discharge for an Electric-type attack, providing a DPS of 5.94 and a TDO of 41.91. To maximize Joltik’s potential, use it in Fog or Rain weather conditions to enhance its ability to utilize the weather boost effectively.
Does Joltik Have A Shiny?

Joltik additionally features a radiant variant that players can find more frequently during the highlight hour, as the appearance rate increases. This special version of Joltik looks similar, but its eyes and foot tops are violet rather than blue, and its overall coloring is green instead of yellow.
Another important fact that players should keep in mind is that Joltik is a weaker Pokemon and will struggle in Pokemon GO raids. There is no Dynamax version of Joltik at the time of writing. That is everything to know about Joltik and Galvantula during the weekly Pokemon GO spotlight hour.
