Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Appears in Marvel Comic “Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant”
From 2018 to 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen was published in Weekly Shonen Jump, Japan’s most popular manga magazine. It quickly became incredibly successful, with yearly sales competing with long-running hits like One Piece. In just 30 volumes, the series has sold around 150 million copies – a remarkable achievement. Fans especially love the Shibuya Incident arc, which was adapted into the second half of Season 2 of the anime. This arc is famous for the powerful and captivating performance of the villain, Ryomen Sukuna, in both the manga and anime. The Shibuya Incident has become so well-known that it’s now been included in a recent Marvel comic, Storm, Earth’s Mightiest Mutant. This new comic, debuting on February 4, 2026, is written by Murewa Ayodele and illustrated by Federica Mancin.
The fourth issue of this comic came out on May 6, 2026, and features the X-Men character Storm journeying across different universes. One of those universes is based on the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, specifically during the intense Shibuya Incident, and is called the Multiverse Cluster of Magic and Death. A panel in the comic shows Sukuna in his famous pose from the Shibuya Arc, officially making Jujutsu Kaisen part of the Marvel multiverse.
How Jujutsu Kaisen Has Impacted The World Of Entertainment Over The Years
The anime series Jujutsu Kaisen has become incredibly popular worldwide, extending far beyond its origins in Japan. It’s now one of the most-watched anime shows internationally, with JJK Season 3 being a particularly big hit globally. Looking ahead to 2026, Season 3 is predicted to have some of the highest ratings, according to IMDb, with episodes like Episode 4, which depicts the Zenin Clan massacre, and Episode 12, showcasing the battle at Sendai Colony, expected to be standout installments.
Beyond the popular anime series, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga consistently ranks among the best-selling comics in both Japan and internationally. It frequently appears at the top of the New York Times Best Sellers list. Even though the manga has finished its run, sales are expected to keep rising thanks to the ongoing anime and the growing number of people eager to read the source material.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s follow-up series, JJK Modulo, has also been incredibly popular. According to Oricon charts, it’s consistently ranked among the top 5 best-selling manga in Japan for 2026. Internationally, on the Manga Plus platform, JJK Modulo has regularly been one of the most-read series each week, performing as well as long-running hits like One Piece. Gege Akutami has clearly created a worldwide sensation with his series, achieving a level of success few others can match.

Other Anime-Manga Series That Have Appeared in American Comic Books
It might be surprising to see Jujutsu Kaisen show up in an American comic book, but it’s not the only manga to get a shout-out. The same issue of Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant also references the anime series Gachiakuta. Gachiakuta is a popular new anime from 2025 that’s quickly gained a following, and it was previously featured in the Multiverse cluster of Sentient Trash.
It’s not unusual for manga to appear in other comic books. For instance, Chainsaw Man was featured on a special cover of Absolute Batman, and even the incredibly popular One Piece has had references made to it. Seeing Jujutsu Kaisen included in this way is especially exciting for fans.
