Rostin Behnam, head of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has announced his plan to resign, which will take effect on January 20, 2025, coincidentally the day Donald Trump is scheduled to assume office as U.S. President after his inauguration. Rostin hasn’t disclosed the reasons for his departure, but there’s much talk about possible changes ahead.

It’s said that Rostin Behnam, the current Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will be leaving his position on January 20th. According to reports from Reuters, this coincides with the same day as Donald Trump’s inauguration. Notably, Gary Gensler, the Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has also stated he will step down on the same date.
