Key Detail in Satoshi’s Mystery Revealed by Samson Mow: ‘It Just Can’t Be Coincidence’

As a seasoned crypto investor and someone who has been deeply immersed in the Bitcoin community since its early days, I can’t help but find the theory linking Satoshi Nakamoto to China, particularly its intelligence service, intriguing. I was actually in China during the year of Bitcoin’s creation, running one of the biggest exchanges at that time. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

Samson Mow, a long-time Bitcoin advocate who holds leadership roles at JAN3 and Pixelmatic, and who previously worked with one of the potential candidates for Satoshi Nakamoto (the anonymous creator of Bitcoin), Adam Back, has expressed his opinions on the speculation that this elusive figure may have ties to China, specifically to its intelligence agency.

Mow was in China when Bitcoin was created

According to U.Today’s report, well-known hedge fund manager Kyle Bass expressed his belief on Twitter that the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, is likely a Chinese Intelligence operative.

During a discussion about Bitcoin, Bass proposed an alternative viewpoint suggesting that the Chinese intelligence agency might secretly be behind the creation of Bitcoin under the pseudonym “Satoshi,” with the ultimate goal of weakening America’s global financial dominance, particularly its economic leadership and the US dollar.

Significantly, China prohibited Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) back in 2017, subsequently broadening this ban to include cryptocurrency trading and mining activities in the year 2021. Over time, China has been experimenting with its own central bank digital currency (CBDC), which was originally referred to as DCEP (digital currency electronic payments) but is now commonly known as the e-yuan.

In a recent social media post on X, Samson Mow stated that he was in China in 2009 – the year of Bitcoin creation. Describing what he was busy with in that country, Mow tweeted: “Then ran the biggest #Bitcoin exchange in China, and left to infiltrate @Blockstream.” In a recent X post, he jokingly stated that he is did not create BTC.

Blockstream is a company founded and managed by cryptographer Adam Back, who exchanged ideas with Satoshi Nakamoto (a possible candidate for the creator of Bitcoin). This connection led to Mow being referred to as “the former colleague of Adam Back” in an upcoming HBO documentary about Satoshi Nakamoto. Mow found this playful nickname amusing and recently shared his laughter on his social media page.

“It just can’t be coincidence” – Mow on Satoshi’s likely connection to China

In a comment to his today’s X post, Mow pointed at a curious detail about Satoshi that, he believes, may prove he did have some connection to China. JAN3 boss shared the spelling of Satoshi Nakamoto’s name in Chinese hieroglyphs.

Mow pointed out that the initial character in “China” is identical to its first letter, and he found this too unlikely to be a mere coincidence. He put it in words like this: Mow noted that the starting character of “China” matches its very beginning. He thought it was highly improbable that this similarity wasn’t intentional.

It’s quite striking that the name Satoshi Nakamoto, who is believed to be the creator of Bitcoin, shares the same first character “中” (on) with China. Could this be more than mere coincidence?
