KuCoin EU’s New Hires: A Total Disaster?

So, KuCoin EU, huh? They’ve hired a couple of new people. Christian Derler as Chief Commercial Officer and Tamara Rubey as General Counsel. Managing Directors, the whole shebang. Four-member leadership team. Four! Sounds like a party 🎉. They’re trying to get this MiCAR license thingy with the Austrian Financial Market Authority. Austria? Really? 🤔

Apparently, these managing directors are leading KuCoin EU in Europe. Groundbreaking. The team is now CEO Oliver Stauber, COO Christian Niedermüller, CCO Christian Derler, and General Counsel Tamara Rubey. Sounds like a law firm, not a crypto company. 🙄

This Derler guy has “more than 20 years of experience” in banking. Twenty years! Probably doesn’t even know what a blockchain is. Led some division at BKS Bank. Now he’s overseeing business development, sales, marketing, and growth. All of it! Good luck with that, buddy. 🤦‍♂️

And Rubey, she’s a lawyer. Figures. Worked at PSA, Coinpanion, and Bitpanda. Crypto regulation and payment services expertise. Payments, payments, payments. She’s managing legal and regulatory affairs. Because that’s what crypto needs, more regulation! 👮‍♀️

Derler says KuCoin EU is the “perfect platform” for his “leadership experience.” Oh, please. It’s crypto! He’s going to “set new industry standards.” Yeah, right. “Global strength and European innovation.” Sounds like a marketing slogan vomited onto a press release. 🤮

And BC Wong, the CEO of KuCoin, chimes in about “MiCAR license application” and “building a local presence.” “Seasoned professionals with traditional finance and legal backgrounds.” Translation: We’re trying to look legit. “This is just the beginning.” Oh god, help us all. 😩
