Labyrinth Anime Movie Gets New English Dub Trailer, In Theaters This May

Shoji Kawamori, the talented animator known for creating the popular anime series Macross and The Vision of Escaflowne, is making his first feature film as director. Labyrinth combines his signature style – exciting sci-fi action with robots, and memorable pop music.

Labyrinth is a sci-fi film about Shiori Maezawa, a typical high school student desperate for online fame. She gets her wish when a humiliating video goes viral, but things quickly turn strange. Shiori finds herself trapped inside her smartphone, while a digital copy of her – Shiori@Revolution – uses her newfound popularity to flood the internet with mindless content. Now, Shiori must fight to reclaim her life, stop her digital double, and save humanity from the damaging effects of social media before it’s too late.

The classic film Labyrinth is returning to cinemas in the US and Canada for two special showings on May 10th and 11th, 2026. Tickets are available now!

Labyrinth Reveals English Dub Cast Ahead of Theatrical Release Next Month

The English dub of Labyrinth features Shay Rudolph (known for The Baby-Sitters Club and Lethal Weapon) as Shiori Maezawa, and also as her double, the film’s villain, Shiori@Revolution. Other cast members include Jesse Inocalla as Komori (The Dragon Prince and Shin Godzilla), Nicholas Leung (Honkai: Star Rail and Silent Hill f) as Suguru, Patrick Mealey (Genshin Impact and Fire Emblem Heroes) as Yamada, and Brianna Gentilella (Pompo: The Cinéphile) as Kirara.

The original Japanese version of Labyrinth boasts a fantastic cast, including Suzuka from the J-Pop group Atarashii Gakko! and Shiori@Revolution, which sets a high bar for the English dub. However, based on the trailer, Rudolph and the rest of the English cast seem capable of delivering a performance that does the film justice. GKIDS describes the movie as a creative and exciting story about self-discovery and the challenges of social media.

Labyrinth releases in American and Canadian theaters exclusively on May 10 and May 11, 2026.
