LayerZero Debuts ‘Proof-of-Donation’ Claiming Mechanism, Here’s All

As a seasoned crypto investor with a strong belief in Ethereum’s potential and the importance of community-driven projects, I am thoroughly impressed by LayerZero’s innovative “Proof-of-Donation” system. By directly supporting Protocol Guild, an organization that has significantly contributed to Ethereum’s development, we as investors demonstrate our long-term commitment to this ecosystem.

LayerZero is introducing a fresh “Proof-of-Donation” mechanism for obtaining ZRO tokens. With this setup, individuals can obtain ZRO by making a minimal contribution of $0.10 per token, which can be paid in USDC, USDT, or ETH. These donations will be directly channeled to Protocol Guild, an entity that supports Ethereum developers’ financing. The LayerZero Foundation will match every donation up to a cap of $10 million, resulting in a total donation amount of $18.5 million to Protocol Guild.

LayerZero’s Protocol Guild and Ethereum Support

LayerZero recently unveiled a fresh “Proof-of-Donation” procedure, leading to a significant $18.5 million contribution to ProtocolGuild – an Ethereum developer funding collective. ProtocolGuild and Ethereum’s core development teams have been instrumental in LayerZero’s expansion, promoting the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Ethereum’s Layer 2 strategy, and the wider crypto community.

As a crypto investor, I can express this as: By contributing to ProtocolGuild, I am showing my strong support for the LayerZero protocol and belief in the future of cryptocurrencies. To receive ZRO tokens, I need to donate $0.10 worth of USDC, USDT, or native ETH for each token I wish to claim.

Contributions in small amounts are routed directly to ProtocolGuild, a charitable entity focused on advancing Ethereum’s key researchers and programmers. The contributions are locked-in for distribution over a four-year period according to the terms of ProtocolGuild’s smart contracts. Importantly, the LayerZero Foundation will double the value of every donation, up to a total of $10 million.

Airdrop Details and Market Response

As a crypto investor, I’d put it this way: LayerZero, the omnichain interoperability protocol I’m following, recently held an airdrop for its native token ZRO. During this event, there were two claim windows. The first one, which was exclusive to core participants, lasted 25 minutes and enabled them to secure up to 5,000 tokens. Following that, there was a 5-minute window specifically designed for those who had responded to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), allowing them to claim up to 10,000 tokens.

Before joining the LayerZero event, participants were required to confirm their qualification using the eligibility verifier. The compensation plan included threefold the designated tokens for transactions initiated early, a bonus of 10 ZRO tokens for late transactions, and an 80% token decrease for prospective Sybil accounts.

As a crypto investor, I found it intriguing when the team made an effort to integrate Sybil hunters into their airdrop checker portal during the distribution process. This was done to ensure a fair allocation of tokens. After the successful execution of the airdrop, prominent cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance and Upbit made announcements about listing LayerZero’s ZRO token. As a result, trading for this token became available on their platforms starting from June 20th.
