Want to find all 50 Bat-Symbols in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight? These collectibles are hidden throughout Gotham City, and unlike other items, you can’t reveal their locations using the district towers. This guide shows you exactly where to find each one, listing the district, coordinates, and nearby landmarks to help you out.

You only need to find 25 Bat-Symbols to unlock the “The idea was to be a symbol” achievement/trophy. If you collect all 50, you’ll complete a T-Rex statue in the Batcave. All 50 Bat-Symbol Locations Overview

Gotham City has 50 Bat-Symbols hidden throughout, often found on rooftops, behind signs, on high beams, and near famous landmarks. This guide uses a single numbering system for all 50 symbols. Later sections, which focus on specific districts, will also show the district map number alongside the overall symbol number in parentheses.

How Bat-Symbols Work

Bat-Symbols are golden coins featuring Batman’s logo. You collect them just by touching them. While some players call them Bat Coins, this guide will refer to them as Bat-Symbols, which is the name used within the game.

Bat-Symbols are trickier to collect than other items in the game because they don’t appear on the map once you’ve activated the towers. You’ll have to use coordinates and surrounding landmarks to locate all 50 of them.

You only need to find 25 Bat-Symbols to earn the “The idea was to be a symbol” achievement. However, if you want to complete the T-Rex statue in the Batcave, you’ll need to collect all 50.

All Tricorner Bat-Symbol Locations

There are six Bat-Symbols in Tricorner.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #1)

Coordinates: 142, 71
Location: On the side of the Kord Industries building close to the water.

Look for the Bat-Symbol on the side of the Kord Industries building near the waterfront.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #2)

Coordinates: 155, 124
Location: Behind the fence next to the Combat Trial.

Go to the Combat Trial location and look behind the fence. You’ll find the Bat-Symbol right next to a pair of blue barrels.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #3)

Coordinates: 246, 115
Location: On the roof of the overhang just northeast of the large crane.

Reach the roof of the overhang northeast of the big waterfront crane by climbing or gliding. You can also grapple directly onto the roof from the ground.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #4)

Coordinates: 256, 175
Location: On the roof behind the Q-Ball Pool Hall sign.

Head to the Q-Ball Pool Hall sign and look on the roof behind it. You can use your grapple to get to the sign from the street, which will make reaching the Bat-Symbol much easier.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #5)

Coordinates: 221, 189
Location: On the metal scaffolding over the generators on the roof.

Head to the rooftop and find the generators. Above them, you’ll see metal scaffolding. You can use your grapple to quickly reach the scaffolding – the generators themselves look like large oil drums lying on their sides.

Bat-Symbol 6 Location (Overall #6)

Coordinates: 134, 164
Location: In the air current by the tall tower marked 03.

Fly towards the Bat-Signal using the wind currents around the tall tower, which is labeled ’03’. First, grapple onto the smaller buildings nearby to reach the top of the tower.

All Old Gotham South Bat-Symbol Locations

There are six Bat-Symbols in Old Gotham South.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #7)

Coordinates: 378, 227
Location: Inside the building with the domed roof.

Go to the building with the dome – you’ll find the Bat-Symbol inside. It’s a really distinctive building, so it’s hard to miss!

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #8)

Coordinates: 304, 278
Location: On the top balcony at Hotel Old Gotham South.

Find the Bat-Symbol on the upper balcony of the Hotel Old Gotham South. It’s located right below the hotel’s red sign, and you can reach it by grappling down from the elevated train tracks.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #9)

Coordinates: 299, 314
Location: In the third-floor area of the building.

Finding this Bat-Symbol can be tough. Begin by standing on the column at coordinates 302, 304, facing north. Use your grapple to reach the ledge ahead and enter the sheltered area. The symbol is located near a door with a brown awning.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #10)

Coordinates: 264, 305
Location: On top of a column at the corner of the bridge.

In Grant Park, there’s a small bridge. Look for the Bat-Symbol by climbing onto the column at the southeast corner.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #11)

Coordinates: 250, 345
Location: On top of the tower next to the building with the Action News sign.

The Bat-Symbol appears above a radio tower beside a building displaying an ‘Action News’ sign. This isn’t the tower used to find collectibles, but you can reach the collectible by grappling and gliding from the top of a nearby building.

Bat-Symbol 6 Location (Overall #12)

Coordinates: 347, 308
Location: Just before entering the tunnel.

You’ll find a tunnel with a Combat Challenge accessed by stairs. The tunnel’s entrance, marked by the Bat-Symbol, is located to the north.

All Old Gotham North Bat-Symbol Locations

There are six Bat-Symbols in Old Gotham North.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #13)

Coordinates: 351, 353
Location: On a narrow ledge on the side of the building with the Got Hamburger? sign.

Look for the building with the ‘Got Hamburger?’ billboard. Below the sign, you’ll find narrow ledges, and the collectible is hidden on one of them. You can’t grapple directly to it, so you’ll need to jump or glide to reach it.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #14)

Coordinates: 335, 389
Location: On top of the elevated tunnel that connects the Brix building to another building.

Climb or glide to the top of the elevated tunnel connected to the Brix building.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #15)

Coordinates: 383, 382
Location: On the second-floor balcony.

Use your grapple to reach the balcony on the second floor of the building southeast of Wayne Tower. From there, look to your right – you’ll see a building with a Detroit billboard. Looking left, you’ll find a Gotham General Store.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #16)

Coordinates: 380, 430
Location: On the streetlamp above the black minifig statue.

Okay, so I found this cool black minifig statue, and above it is a streetlamp. Now, you can’t just grapple straight to the Bat-Symbol, unfortunately. What I had to do was either glide over from another building, or – the way I did it – grapple to the streetlamp first and then glide from there. It works perfectly!

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #17)

Coordinates: 441, 409
Location: On the water tower on the roof of the building with the Gotham General Store.

Head to the Gotham General Store and go up to the rooftop water tower. Look for a vent on the roof – the airflow from it will help you reach the collectible.

Bat-Symbol 6 Location (Overall #18)

Coordinates: 421, 457
Location: Above the elevated walkway, between the tall train station columns.

Above the walkway between the columns marked with Train Station signs, you’ll find a spot to grapple. Use that to swing into the Bat-Signal.

All Old Gotham West Bat-Symbol Locations

There are five Bat-Symbols in Old Gotham West.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #19)

Coordinates: 318, 461
Location: At the corner of the Star Theater building’s highest roof.

Just go to the roof of the Star Theater and look at the southeast corner of the highest point.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #20)

Coordinates: 280, 466
Location: On the roof of the Flugelheim.

To get the Bat-Symbol, head to the top of the Flugelheim building on the east side. It’s really high, so you’ll have to use your grapple to climb from building to building to reach the top.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #21)

Coordinates: 285, 419
Location: On a power line over the street between the Gotham Globe and Gotham Burger.

Okay, so I’ve spotted the power line running above the street, right between the Gotham Globe newspaper building and Gotham Burger. The trick is to find a building nearby that I can get up on top of, then I can glide down and land right on the Bat-Signal. Sounds awesome!

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #22)

Coordinates: 254, 388
Location: On an overhang on the building to the right of the Got Hamburger? billboard.

Look for the ‘Got Hamburger?’ billboard. Then, on the second floor of the building immediately to its right, check under the overhang.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #23)

Coordinates: 182, 340
Location: On an elevated beam over the road.

At the given location, you’ll find a beam crossing the road. You can use your grappling hook to climb onto the beam and access the Bat-Symbol.

All The Cauldron South Bat-Symbol Locations

There are five Bat-Symbols in The Cauldron South.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #24)

Coordinates: 233, 473
Location: On the roof, next to a vent with an air current.

Use your grapple to climb onto the roof of the building just to the right of the big Soder Cola advertisement. You’ll find the Bat-Symbol near the vent where air is blowing out.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #25)

Coordinates: 154, 469
Location: On the overpass connected to the elevated train tracks.

This Bat-Symbol is on an overpass extending northward out of the elevated train tracks.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #26)

Coordinates: 180, 453
Location: Behind pallets in the garage at the car wash.

Go into the car wash garage and look behind the stacked pallets. This Bat-Symbol is located on the ground floor, so you won’t need to climb or go up high to find it.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #27)

Coordinates: 138, 449
Location: Between the smokestacks on the roof of the Keystone Industries building.

Go up to the roof of the Keystone Industries building, either by climbing or gliding, and look in the space between the smokestacks. You’ll be positioned right behind the Keystone Industries sign.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #28)

Coordinates: 192, 407
Location: Next to the drums on the roof across from the Metro Steel tanks.

Use your grapple to reach the roof of the building with the Metro Steel sign, across from the tanks. You’ll find the Bat-Symbol right next to a drum labeled ’01’.

All The Cauldron North – Ace Chemicals Bat-Symbol Locations

There are five Bat-Symbols in The Cauldron North – Ace Chemicals.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #29)

Coordinates: 201, 502
Location: In the middle of a gold Stud ring near the top of a very tall electrical pole.

Reach the top of the tall power pole and swing through the golden hoop to grab the Bat-Symbol. While you’re up there, look for the big Soder Cola sign – it’s to your southeast.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #30)

Coordinates: 244, 547
Location: In an alcove hidden underneath the Kord Industries billboard with the car.

Look for the Kord Industries billboard featuring a car, then search the hidden alcove directly below it. This Bat-Symbol location is particularly tricky to discover.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #31)

Coordinates: 231, 592
Location: On top of an elevated beam over the train tracks.

Look above the train tracks for the elevated beam, grapple to the top, and go to the northeast end.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #32)

Coordinates: 153, 539
Location: Behind the “C” in the ACE sign.

Head to the ACE sign and look behind the letter ‘C’. From there, you can quickly pull yourself up to the ledge using the sign as a hold.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #33)

Coordinates: 106, 578
Location: In the corridor between the metal fence and the brick wall.

Look for a blue portable toilet just north of the Bat-Symbol, along the walkway between the metal fence and the brick wall by the water.

All Newtown Bat-Symbol Locations

There are five Bat-Symbols in Newtown.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #34)

Coordinates: 277, 653
Location: On an elevated beam over the road.

Grapple to get on top of the elevated beam over the road.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #35)

Coordinates: 325, 630
Location: Hovering over the fountain.

Okay, so I need to head over to the fountain. There’s a Bat-Symbol floating right above it, and I can grab it by gliding down from the walkways around the fountain – it looks pretty easy to reach from up there!

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #36)

Coordinates: 364, 658
Location: On the elevated walkway that connects the Q Corp building to the Opera.

Look for the walkway connecting the Q Corp building and the Opera. You can easily spot the Q Corp building because it has a big Rock Cafe sign.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #37)

Coordinates: 419, 660
Location: Get a boost from the air vent on the nearby roof.

Hop in the air current on the roof to get a boost to this Bat-Symbol.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #38)

Coordinates: 476, 603
Location: On the roof of the Water and Power building’s front-right column.

Climb to the top of the front-right column at the Water and Power building. It’s a tall climb, so you’ll need to use several grapples in a row.

All Gotham Village – Robinson Park Bat-Symbol Locations

There are five Bat-Symbols in Gotham Village – Robinson Park.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #39)

Coordinates: 302, 692
Location: On the highest point of the roof of the building with the Jitters Coffee sign by the door.

Locate the building with lots of windows and a Jitters Coffee sign near the entrance. Then, climb up to the highest part of the roof to find the Bat-Symbol.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #40)

Coordinates: 309, 760
Location: In the air above the large minifig statue on top of the Heyes Hotel.

A large minifigure statue wearing a hat stands on top of the Heyes Hotel. Above the statue, you’ll see the Bat-Symbol in the air, which you can reach by gliding over from a building nearby.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #41)

Coordinates: 280, 743
Location: On an elevated beam high above the road.

There is an elevated beam high above the road, and the Bat-Symbol is on top of it.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #42)

Coordinates: 230, 744
Location: On the highest point of the roof of Gray Towers.

Gray Towers is a high-rise building located in Gotham Village. Climb to the top of the roof – you can use a grapple or glide – to discover a Bat-Symbol.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #43)

Location: On the roof above the Les Minifigures billboard.

Locate the Les Minifigures billboard and look at the roof above it. You can use the ropes on the roof to jump and reach the collectible.

All East End – Amusement Mile Bat-Symbol Locations

There are seven Bat-Symbols in East End – Amusement Mile.

Bat-Symbol 1 Location (Overall #44)

Location: On the highest point of the roof of the building with the On the Run billboard.

Find the building with the On the Run billboard and grapple to the highest point of its roof.

Bat-Symbol 2 Location (Overall #45)

Location: On the Wayne Financial billboard.

Go to the Wayne Financial billboard and grapple or glide onto it.

Bat-Symbol 3 Location (Overall #46)

Coordinates: 469, 906
Location: On the highest roof above the Snowy Cones Ice Cream sign.

Look for the Snowy Cones Ice Cream sign on the west side of the amusement park. The highest roof right above it is where you need to check.

Bat-Symbol 4 Location (Overall #47)

Coordinates: 332, 903
Location: On the elevated beam with the Emergency sign.

Grapple onto the elevated beam with the Emergency sign.

Bat-Symbol 5 Location (Overall #48)

Coordinates: 326, 932
Location: Above the clock.

Locate the clock at the given coordinates, then look up above it. You’ll be able to easily reach the Bat-Symbol by grappling onto the spire that extends from the tower.

Bat-Symbol 6 Location (Overall #49)

Location: On the elevated metal beam over the road.

Find the metal beam that goes over the road at the given coordinates. The item you’re looking for is on top of it.

Bat-Symbol 7 Location (Overall #50)

Location: On the roof of the building with the lobster.

Find the building with the lobster and check its roof. You’ll be right next to the waterfront.

Do Towers Reveal Bat-Symbols?

No, finding Bat-Symbols isn’t like collecting other items or completing activities. Activating towers helps clean up districts, but it won’t guide you to all 50 Bat-Symbols.

Do Bat-Symbols Count Toward 100% Completion?
