As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt and countless hours spent immersed in the vibrant world of Yakuza, I can confidently say that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is shaping up to be a game I simply cannot miss! The return of fan-favorite mini-games like Dragon Kart, the addition of karaoke sessions with Majima’s signature tunes, and the tantalizing promise of dressing up my favorite character in over 200 unique outfits has me more excited than a cat on a hot tin roof!
RGG Studio and SEGA have jointly unveiled a variety of mini-games and activities for the tropical setting of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
As a gamer, I’m all set to rock Majima-style karaoke! Not only can I belt out the Goro Pirates theme song and some fresh idol hits, but I’ll also find familiar tunes from the series making a comeback. And whether it’s on land or at sea, I’m ready to unleash my vocal prowess anytime!
Here’s some of the songs available:
- “Song of Departure -Journey to the New World”: A musical theme song for Noah’s first trip to the outside world.
- “24-Hour Cinderella”: Majima’s signature song features comical lyrics that belie an emotional connection to Majima.
- “The Sun at 36.5°C”: The long-awaited Majima idol song, following the popular “24 Hour Cinderella”.
- “Midnight Desire”: A hard-hitting number full of shouts, based on the theme of fighting the desire to eat ramen noodles and other food late at night.
- “The Goro Pirates Theme”: The theme song of the Goro Pirates formed by Majima.
- “Get to the Top!”: The song Majima sang for the first time at karaoke is back after a long hiatus.
The thrilling Dragon Kart game is back on the scene: This is a high-risk racing game set in the tropical paradise of Hawaii! It offers multiple modes such as Grand Prix and Versus, which are famous for their intense rival shootouts. Players can perfect their skills, relentlessly attack opponents or utilize their rocket launcher to clear the path, aiming to be both the quickest and strongest racers in Hawaii!
Sega reveals that players have the opportunity to customize Majima with a whopping 200 unique costumes, featuring iconic options like “Goromi” and idol outfits. Players can also modify hairstyles, add an eye patch, choose earrings, and more to create their personalized version of “Goro Majima”.
Alongside the standard Yakuza series offerings, there are some classic titles from Sega’s history to explore. In “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii,” you’ll find the underwater shooting game “Ocean Hunter” at the Game Center – immerse yourself in the stunning underwater environment! Furthermore, the Master System has fresh releases too. Apart from “Poseidon Wars 3-D” and “Space Harrier 3-D,” there are numerous shooter games like “Star Jacker” to keep you entertained.
Of course there’s loads of sub stories as well, some of which sound the usual kind of fun.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox on February 21st, 2025.
