As a veteran gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent revelation by Marvel Rivals regarding the banned players during their beta testing phase is quite impressive. NetEase has always been known for their strict anti-cheat measures, but this level of transparency is truly commendable.

The developers behind Marvel Rivals, NetEase, have unveiled the names of the players who were banned during the beta phase. This game, which was first announced in March, is a new addition to their portfolio that also includes titles like Marvel Super War and Marvel Duel. To give gamers an idea of what they can anticipate from this upcoming shooter, two test periods have been conducted, with the latest one having concluded recently.

The Marvel Rivals closed beta, which commenced on July 23, concluded on August 5. During this period, players from regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia had the opportunity to try out 20 distinct heroes in the Marvel Rivals game, with popular characters like Iron Man and Venom being part of the matches. This latest testing phase was accessible on both PC and consoles and offered four unique maps – two inspired by Yggsgard and two inspired by Tokyo 2099, along with the Convoy, Domination, and Convergence game modes. As the beta came to a close, Marvel Rivals has revealed some crucial updates.

On its official Twitter account, Marvel Rivals unveiled the names of the players who were banned during the beta testing period. The tweet stated that a total of 190 players were banned for cheating, listing their usernames and IDs. NetEase, the developers of Marvel Rivals, emphasized their commitment to addressing cheating, stating that it is a high priority for them and they will continue to take strong actions against such illegal activities even after the beta has ended. They also encouraged players to report any suspicious behavior they may encounter.

Marvel Rivals Bans Nearly 200 Players During Beta

In the Twitter discussions, one gamer admitted to reporting teammates for auto-locking, stating it frequently occurred when they played as The Punisher in Marvel Rivals. Another player shared similar experiences with Punisher players, mentioning it happened again during matches featuring Hela and Peni Parker. Many praised the developers for swiftly imposing bans, while several Marvel Rivals players were shocked at those who resorted to cheating even during the game’s beta phase.

As the Marvel Rivals beta was drawing to a close, NetEase conducted a smaller-scale trial to test fixes and incorporate DLSS Frame Generation into the game settings. With the positive feedback from players during the closed beta, they are now eagerly awaiting updates from NetEase in the upcoming months, including potential new content and most importantly, the long-awaited launch date.
