Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Reveals the Fighting Avengers and New Characters

I was so hyped at EVO Japan 2026 when Arc System Works dropped the new trailer for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls! They finally showed off the last two characters, completing the Avengers team. It’s awesome seeing the roster for this unique 4v4 fighter come together as the release date gets closer. With just two teams left to reveal, we now know the full four-fighter lineup for what they’re calling the Fighting Avengers!

Fans were eagerly awaiting a new Marvel vs Capcom game, but in the summer of 2025, Arc System Works surprised everyone with Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a unique take on team-based fighting games. This game takes things a step further with 4v4 battles, featuring Marvel heroes with a distinct Japanese-inspired style – for example, Iron Man now sports a suit reminiscent of Gundam. As with any fighting game, players are excited to see who will be playable at launch, and with so many potential characters, there’s been a lot of discussion and guessing about which teams will be included.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Introduces the Fighting Avengers

Ever since the first look at Marvel Tokon and early test versions, players expected an Avengers team with Iron Man and Captain America. Arc System Works confirmed this at EVO Japan 2026, revealing the complete team which does include those two heroes. The team is rounded out by the Incredible Hulk, voiced by returning actor Fred Tatasciore, a fan-favorite from previous Marvel fighting games. Arc System Works has also made some new additions to this version of Hulk to make him distinct from past iterations.

Hulk’s design includes bone armor, making him appear more primal. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained in a blog post that because of Hulk’s incredible strength and unpredictable nature, his allies and groups like S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to send him to the Savage Lands. In the game, Hulk is a powerful character who can easily overpower enemies. He has a Gamma Gauge that fills up as you fight. Once full, Hulk enters Gamma Rage, increasing his speed and attack power, and allowing him to perform devastating, one-hit attacks.

Joining Hulk as the last member of the Fighting Avengers is Black Panther, voiced by Erica Luttrell. But this isn’t the T’challa fans are used to; it’s his sister, Shuri, just like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Shuri has recently become Black Panther while still serving as Wakanda’s main scientist, meaning she juggles both roles. She’s a fast and nimble fighter who uses the Spear of Bashenga and a special ability called Bast’s Blessing. This ability lets her quickly dash around and cancel attacks, making it easy to create surprising and varied combos.

The trailer didn’t just introduce new characters; it also featured The Promoter, who returned to share more details about the game’s story and the reason for the team-ups. As rumors suggested, the main villain in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is The Champion, an incredibly powerful being who travels the universe seeking strong opponents. If anyone fails to defeat him, he destroys their planet. In the game, The Champion has come to Earth and initiated the ‘Challenge of the Champion’ to test the strength of its greatest heroes and villains.
