Milatović shared details from a gathering held around this time last year, where he pointedly questioned Spajić regarding his acquaintance with Kwon. He emphasized that this denial happened in the presence of multiple party members, some of whom are now ministers, causing speculation about the Prime Minister’s honesty and trustworthiness, particularly given his significant involvement in the crypto industry.
Furthermore fueling the dispute, Milatović stated that Spajić was the one who introduced him to George Cottrell, a British individual under severe scrutiny in the U.S., accused of money laundering and fraudulent activities.
Milatovic viewed Cottrell as a possible consultant for election campaigns; however, he voiced his dissatisfaction following their encounter, claiming it seemed to foster “sentiments opposed to European ideals.

Given the recent events, Milatović has firmly expressed his opposition to Montenegro serving as a sanctuary for criminals. He’s called on local officials to take immediate action in situations similar to those involving Turkish citizens Binali Čamgoz and Do Kwon.

Since the fall of Do Kwon’s blockchain project, leading to substantial financial setbacks for investors, he has faced intense judicial examination. The court verdict declared on August 1 signifies a crucial milestone in a prolonged legal conflict that commenced with Kwon’s detention at Podgorica airport in March 2023.
