More Bad News Surfaces For Fallout: London

As a long-time fan of the Fallout series, I have eagerly awaited the release of Fallout: London, the highly anticipated and sizeable mod for Fallout 4. After the excitement surrounding the next-gen update in April, the delay of this project came as a disappointment to many of us in the community.

Fallout: London is a much-anticipated and large-scale mod for Fallout 4 that has been under development for several years. After the April release of Fallout 4’s next-gen update, the FOLON team announced that the release of this extensive mod would be postponed indefinitely due to uncertainties and inevitable file conflicts.

As a long-time fan of the Fallout series, I was thrilled when Epic Games Store announced that they would be releasing a new Fallout game, Fallout: London. I had eagerly anticipated this addition to the franchise and was looking forward to exploring this new location. However, my excitement was short-lived when I received the disappointing news that those of us with the Epic Games Store version of Fallout 4 will not be able to play Fallout: London.

At Least It’s Coming

Recently, Team FOLON shared that in order to run Fallout: London, users must downgrade their version of Fallout 4. The required downgrade involves undoing the update released by Bethesda Game Studios in April. This step is necessary as the update, which has been identified as having inherent flaws, conflicts with the mod.

As a passionate fan of Fallout 4, I’ve recently learned that if I own the game via Epic Games Store, I won’t be able to access the mod in question. The reason being is that Epic Games Store doesn’t provide a rollback feature for updates. This means that once an update is installed, you can’t go back to a previous version. A representative from GOG (Good Old Games) took the time to shed light on this issue and emphasized the importance of such a feature in PC-based digital storefronts.

Fallout: London is exclusive to GOG and won’t be found on Nexus Mods due to its extensive size of approximately 30 GB.

At the moment, the Fallout 4 megamod is undergoing testing by GOG prior to its global launch. Are you planning to download it once it becomes available?
