The “Young Monk’s Request” is an early quest in Crimson Desert that sends you to the enchanting Pororin Village to gather Mystical Pine Mushrooms. While it seems simple, you’ll need to become allies with the Shai people before you can even enter the village. And even after that, reaching the cave where the mushrooms grow presents another challenge. This guide will help you successfully complete the quest in Crimson Desert.

How to Start Young Monk’s Request Quest in Crimson Desert

The Young Monk’s Request quest in Crimson Desert becomes available once you unlock the Howling Hill Greymanes Camp in Chapter 3. After unlocking the camp, travel east to the Coalvale Workshop to begin the quest.

When you arrive at the village, you’ll meet a young monk who traveled from Jijeong Temple. He’s looking for a rare Mystical Mushroom that can be found nearby.

To help the Young Monk, players need to get the Mystical Mushroom from Pororin Village and finish the quest. But Pororin Village is off-limits, and Kliff will be put to sleep with darts if he tries to enter. To get inside, players must first complete the ‘Unreachable Village’ quest in the Crimson Desert.

I attempted to bypass the requirements for the ‘Young Monk’s Request’ quest by going directly to the village without finishing the ‘Unreachable Village’ quest first. However, the Shai Children always attacked me, even when I was hiding inside the mushroom cave.

How to Get Mystical Pine Mushrooms in Crimson Desert (Young Monk’s Request)

Okay, so after finishing the Unreachable Village quest, I was finally able to get into the village and find the mushroom cave. It’s pretty easy to spot, actually – just look for a wooden pole with plants hanging all over it. I could see it from a distance, and it pointed me right to the cave entrance.

Don’t forget to gather plenty of arrows! You’ll need them when you explore the mushroom cave to complete the Young Monk’s Request in Crimson Desert.

Carefully enter the cave, keeping low to the ground. Look for a large mushroom that glows red and shoot it with your bow. You’ll find several of these glowing mushrooms inside – destroying them all will make the cave safe to explore.

You’ll find Mystical Pine Mushrooms at the very back of the cave. You can collect as many as you like, but you only need one to finish the Young Monk’s Request in Crimson Desert. Luckily, you don’t have to go back to the Young Monk at the Coalvale Workshop – completing the quest will instantly give you 5 Pine Mushrooms, which you can use in cooking and crafting.
