New Dragon Ball Game Announces Beta Dates

Highlights

  • Dragon Ball Project: Multi is a new free-to-play MOBA game for PC and mobile devices.
  • Developer Ganbarion is already accepting signups for Project: Multi’s regional beta that’s planned to start on August 19.
  • Project: Multi is merely a provisional name that will be changed prior to the game’s release. No launch window has yet been attached to the project.

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for the Dragon Ball universe, I must say I am quite intrigued by the latest announcement from Bandai Namco – Dragon Ball Project: Multi. With Ganbarion, the team behind multiple One Piece games, at the helm, this MOBA spin-off promises an exciting blend of fast-paced action and strategic teamwork that I can’t help but anticipate.

Bandai Namco, the publisher, has unveiled “Dragon Ball Project: Multi,” an upcoming multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game. Eager Dragon Ball enthusiasts can now register for a chance to join the beta testing session scheduled for mid-August 2024.

The Dragon Ball Project: Multi is developed by Ganbarion, a studio based in Fukuoka, Japan, known for creating at least 14 games based on the series One Piece. Their latest One Piece game, One Piece: World Seeker, was released in 2019. After that, they have only released one other game, a Japanese adventure titled Engawa Danshi to Kemono Tan, which translates roughly to “Engawa Boys and Animal Tails.”

Dragon Ball Project: Multi Coming to PC and Mobile

Three years following Ganbarion’s previous release, they have revealed their next project – “Dragon Ball Project: Multi” – as a free-to-play MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) for both PC and mobile devices. As Bandai Namco owns the rights to produce Dragon Ball games, it is they who will be publishing “Dragon Ball Project: Multi”. This isn’t Ganbarion’s first venture into the Dragon Ball universe; they have also created “Dragon Ball Fusions”, an RPG (Role-Playing Game) exclusive to the 3DS. This game was launched in North America and Europe in November 2016 and February 2017, respectively.

Dragon Ball Project: Multi Beta Signups Are Now Open, But There’s a Catch

Enthusiasts eager to experience this recently revealed MOBA game ahead of others can register for a chance to join its initial beta testing. Yet, it’s worth noting that this preliminary test is confined geographically, as Ganbarion has decided to limit participation to eight countries: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The regional beta will be accessible on Android, iOS, and PC (through Steam), except for Germany and South Korea, which can only participate in the mobile version of the beta. The testing period will span from 11pm PT on August 19 to 10:59pm PT on September 2.

As a passionate gamer eagerly awaiting the drop, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for any updates on the Dragon Ball Project: Multi. Unfortunately, neither a concrete release date nor an official title has been announced yet – all we’ve got so far is the working name “Project: Multi.”

In the midst of a quiet period for the Dragon Ball franchise, the unveiling of “Project: Multi” occurs as it’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Dragon Ball game, with 2023 marking the absence of a release. The most recent addition to the series was “Dragon Ball: The Breakers,” an online asymmetrical action game released in 2022. Following this, another fighting game titled “Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi” from developer Spike Chunsoft is set to drop on October 11, 2024.
