It’s common to see high demand and quick reselling for limited-edition Pokémon products. This has especially been true with the Pokémon Trading Card Game recently, as videos have shown people buying out entire store stocks at places like Costco and Walmart. The card game’s growing popularity has also driven up prices online, with new sets often selling for much more than the suggested retail price.
With the recent surge in Pokemon‘s popularity, stores have started limiting how much merchandise customers can buy. Retailers like GameStop and Target are doing this specifically with Pokemon TCG products to prevent people from buying everything up and reselling it for a profit. We saw a similar rush on exclusive Target merchandise recently, with videos showing customers quickly buying large amounts of the special items as soon as they became available.
