PlayStation Plus members already have a preview of one of the new games coming with the Extra/Premium update on Tuesday, May 19th. PlayStation Plus is updated with new games twice a month. The first update happens on the first Tuesday, and that’s when the free monthly games are added for Essential members.
This month’s free PlayStation Plus games are EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols. PlayStation Plus members of all subscription levels can add these games to their library until June 1st, and they’ll be able to play them as long as their subscription remains active. While these games are included with the Essential tier, players with Extra or Premium subscriptions also get access, along with the games available through those higher tiers.
Time Crisis is Coming to PS Plus Premium
PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) game updates happen at different times each month. The basic ‘Essential’ games are usually added on the first Tuesday, while the ‘Extra’ and ‘Premium’ libraries are updated around the middle of the month. The next update for ‘Extra’ and ‘Premium’ is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19th, but the specific games are mostly unknown right now. Sony is expected to announce the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in May 2026 on Wednesday, May 13th. However, we already know one title: Time Crisis will be added to the Premium tier on May 19th.

If you’re not familiar with it, Time Crisis is a first-person shooting game originally released for the PlayStation 1, where you aim using a special light-gun. While it received good reviews when it came out in 1997, players are curious how the game will work on PS Plus Premium without the light-gun. The game will use the controller’s motion controls to simulate aiming, but it’s still unclear if fans will enjoy this new method when it’s added to PS Plus Premium on May 19th.
As of now, we don’t know all the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in May 2026. Premium usually gets fewer additions, so Time Crisis might be the only new game for that tier. However, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement on May 13th to confirm. The good news is that PS Plus Premium members can also play everything added to the Extra tier, meaning there will be lots of games to enjoy either way.

While the classic game Time Crisis is coming to PlayStation Plus Premium on May 19th, several other games will be removed from the service on the same day. These include two Dark Picture titles, Sand Land (a game created with the late Akira Toriyama), the challenging action game Mortal Shell, and the popular Control: Ultimate Edition from Remedy Entertainment, plus a few other titles.
