Nintendo of Europe Announces Leadership Shake-up Following President’s Resignation

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the recent changes at Nintendo of Europe have piqued my interest. After 35 years with the company, Stephan Bole’s retirement leaves a significant void, but his legacy will undoubtedly live on through the unique experiences he helped create.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed some shake-ups at the top of Nintendo Europe. The man leading the charge, Stephan Bole, has decided to hang up his controller, so to speak, after six years as President. He stepped into the role in 2018, replacing Satoru Shibata. After a remarkable 35-year journey with Nintendo, he’s decided it’s time to put down his joystick and retire, emphasizing that he’s officially closing this chapter of his professional life.

He’s being replaced by Luciano Perena, who previously served as the CFO of Nintendo of Europe.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I, too, am excited about Laurent Fischer stepping into his new role as COO at Nintendo of Europe. Since 1998, he’s been a part of the Nintendo family in marketing, which makes him one more seasoned pro among the gaming titan’s esteemed veterans.

Luciano Perena issued a statement on his new role as President:

As a dedicated gamer and now proud member of the Nintendo family, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Stephan Bole for his exceptional guidance over the years. It’s an honor to carry on Nintendo’s mission of spreading joy through gaming, and I firmly believe that our talented leadership team and unified European squad will enable us to further Nintendo’s legacy by creating extraordinary experiences that continue to captivate gamers worldwide.

After a significant company-wide reorganization aimed at unifying various European branches, Nintendo has now centralized its European operations under one roof, specifically located in Frankfurt.

In an official capacity, Perena is set to assume the roles of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman at Nintendo of Europe – a highly esteemed position indeed.
