Nintendo has announced a new amiibo figure from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, sharing the first look and its release date. Since the game came out in 2023, Nintendo has already released several amiibo featuring characters like Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and other supporting characters.
Nintendo began releasing amiibo figures in 2014 with the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Now, over a decade later, they’re still planning to release more, with new figures scheduled through 2026. In July, we’ll see amiibo based on Resident Evil Requiem, and figures inspired by Splatoon Raiders and Kirby Air Riders are also coming soon.
Nintendo’s Next Zelda Amiibo
A new amiibo figure based on the character Mineru’s Construct from the Zelda series is coming out on September 17th. It’s noticeably larger than the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sage amiibo figures released last year. This new amiibo will also have movable arms, allowing for more dynamic posing. It will cost $34.99, similar to the recent Super Mario Galaxy amiibo, which were also quite large – giving you a good idea of how big this one will be. You can pre-order it now from the Nintendo Store.

The Mineru’s Construct amiibo will work with several games. Scanning it in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will give you random items. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can also scan it to get random items, but with a unique bonus: a chance to unlock a special paraglider fabric that glows in the dark.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the first Zelda game on the NES, but Nintendo hasn’t said much about it. This is likely because they’re already celebrating major anniversaries for Mario and Pokémon. However, we might hear more about Zelda later in the year. Rumors suggest a remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, possibly around the holidays. Nintendo previously released an Ocarina of Time Link amiibo, and if the remake rumors are true, we could see more related merchandise released as well.

It’s been over ten years, but Nintendo’s amiibo figures are still surprisingly successful. Despite recent price increases, largely due to tariffs, fans continue to buy them. Nintendo plans to keep supporting amiibo in games even if those games don’t have new figures of their own, like with upcoming titles such as Star Fox and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. As long as fans keep purchasing amiibo, Nintendo seems committed to continuing production.
