In NTE: Neverness to Everness, you get new Characters and Arcs (weapons) by using the gacha system – basically, you try your luck on special banners to win them.
Understanding how the gacha and pity systems work in NTE is key to spending your in-game currency wisely. Here’s a simple explanation.
All Gacha Currency in NTE
There are four types of gacha currency in NTE.
Solid Dice |
Limited Board (Time-Limited Banner) |
|---|---|
Fabricated Dice |
Standard Board (Standard Banner) |
Tri-Key |
Weapon Banner (Arc Banner) |
Annulith |
Primogem equivalent. Annulith x160 can be used to pull once on any banner. |
NTE Gacha System Explained
Standard Board vs Limited Board
In the game NTE, the character summoning system is called the Scarborough Fair. It has two types of banners, called “Boards”: the Standard Board and the Limited Board. The Standard Board always features a core group of commonly available S- and A-Class characters, much like standard banners in other games. The Limited Board is only available for two weeks at a time and features new, exclusive S- and A-Class characters that you can’t get on the Standard Board.
The table below details how often you’ll get different Characters and Arcs when wishing on the Standard and Limited Banners.
| Item | Drop Rate |
|---|---|
| S-Class Character (Rate Up) | 1.87% |
| S-Class Character | 0.99% |
| S-Class Character (w/ Board Modification) | 19.59% |
| A-Class Character | 11.67% |
| A-Class Arc | 11.31% |
| B-Class Arc | 65.33% |
As a new player, I was really happy to learn about the Standard Board’s discounts! Basically, your first five ten-pulls only cost 8 Fabricated Dice instead of the usual 10, which is a nice little saving. And get this – after doing 50 pulls on the Standard Banner, you get a free Standard S-Class character! The best part? That reward never expires, so you can claim it whenever you’re ready. It’s a great way to build up your team!
How Does the Board Work?
The Board is how we handle the gacha system in NTE, which is exclusive to this game. When you try your luck with a “roll” on the Board, the game randomly picks a number between 1 and 6. Your piece then moves forward that many spaces, and whatever reward is on the tile you land on is what you receive.
The Standard and Limited Boards in NTE have the following tiles and rewards:
| Tile | Reward |
|---|---|
| S-Class Character | Grants the displayed S-Class Character or a random S-Class character if it is a Mystery Box. |
| Purple Chest (Apprentice Chest) | Has a 0.2% chance for an S-Class Character and a 99.8% chance for a B-Class Arc. |
| Golden Chest (Hero Chest) | Has a 3% chance for an S-Class Character and a 97% chance for a B-Class Arc, with guaranteed 2 Warp Pieces. |
| Arc-light Mystery Box | Grants a random A-Class Arc available on the board. |
| Fabricated Dice/Solid Dice | Grants the displayed number of Fabricated or Solid Dice. |
| Warp Pieces Box | Grants the number of Lost Pieces shown on the tile. |
| Lost Pieces Box | Grants the number of Lost Pieces shown on the tile. |
What is Board Modification?
Once you’ve made 70 pulls on a game board, it will undergo a Board Modification. This significantly boosts your chances of getting top-tier characters by almost tripling the number of tiles that feature them.
Okay, so Board Modification is something you do separately for each board, and it’s a one-time deal. Basically, once you pull an S-Class character from that board, the modification wears off. Normally, the chance of getting an S-Class is super low – like 0.99%. But when you’ve got Board Modification active, it boosts your chances way up to 19.59%! It’s a huge difference, so it’s worth doing!
Weapon Banner in NTE
You can find the Weapon Banner within the Arc Shop’s Arc Selection area in the Mall in NTE. It’s a special, limited-time banner that increases your chances of obtaining a specific S-Class Arc, and also includes five other S-Class Arcs.
You can’t do single pulls on the Weapon Banner; it only lets you roll in sets of ten using ten Tri-Keys at a time. The table below shows the chances of getting different Arcs from this banner.
| Item | Drop Rate |
|---|---|
| S-Class Arc (Rate Up) | 1.68% |
| S-Class Arc | 3% |
| A-Class Arc | 7% |
| B-Class Arc | 90% |
Completing an S-Class Arc rewards you with 40 Warp Pieces. A-Class Arcs give you 4 Warp Pieces, and B-Class Arcs provide 20 Lost Pieces.
NTE Pity Explained
Standard and Limited Banner Pity
Here is how pity works on the Standard and Limited Banners in NTE.
- S-Class Character Pity: S-Class Character Pity is at 90 rolls. This means the 90th roll is guaranteed to be an S-Class. On the Standard Board, it will be one of the six Standard S-Class characters, whereas on the Limited Board, it will always be the featured S-Class character.
- A-Class Pity: A-Class pity is at every 10 rolls. This means that every 10th roll is guaranteed to give you an A-Class character or an A-Class Arc. There is no separate pity for A-Class characters.
If you try to get a specific character on a limited-time banner but aren’t successful after a certain number of attempts, your progress towards guaranteeing that character will carry over to the next limited banner. For example, if you try 50 times to get Nanally and don’t, your progress will count towards the next limited-time character banner.
There is no 50/50 pity system in NTE; the rate-up S-Class is guaranteed on the 90th roll.
Weapon Banner Pity
- An A-Class Arc is guaranteed on every 10 pulls (1x roll).
- An S-Class Arc is guaranteed on every 60 pulls (6x rolls).
- The rate-up S-Class Arc is guaranteed on every 80 pulls (8x rolls).
Like the character banners, Pity carries over to the next Limited Issue.
