Olive Oil Guide In Romestead

In Romestead, you can produce olive oil by combining olive paste and empty pots at the Olive Oil Dolium. First, though, you’ll need to construct both the Olive Oil Dolium and a Pottery to create the empty pots. This guide will walk you through every step of the olive oil making process in Romestead.

Olive Oil In Romestead – The Prerequisites

To start making olive oil in Romestead, you first need to unlock the character Ceres and earn one Worship point. This will unlock her “Dolium – Olive Oil” perk. Then, you must defeat the Giant Owl in Romestead. Completing this fight starts a series of quests, including the one that allows you to produce olive oil.

Find the “Sanguis Celeste” quest. Finishing it unlocks the ability to construct a Pottery workshop. This is a key building if you plan on consistently producing olive oil in Romestead.

Because the map, where quests are found, and the puzzles within them change every time you play, you won’t find quests in the same place or have the same puzzle solutions twice.

Okay, so finding the Sanguis Celeste quest is pretty straightforward. Just open up your map and look for a skull icon – that’s how it shows up. The quest name will be right there next to it. Usually, it pops up pretty close by, so you can actually start working on it pretty early on, like right after you take down that Giant Owl.

When you get to where the quest takes you, look for a cave or some ruins to explore. Keep in mind that the entrance and the surrounding area change with each new map, so it might not look exactly like the pictures you’ve seen.

You’ll encounter enemies everywhere, but you can choose to battle them or simply avoid them and head straight for the cave once you find the entrance.

The cave will have a small puzzle to solve – often, it involves throwing a rock at a specific spot to unlock the way forward. Once you solve it, you’ll find a chest holding the item you need for the quest: the Crystallized Blood Crystal. Your next step is to take that crystal and place it on the altar.

After that, you’ll finish the Sanguis Celeste quest and gain access to Pottery. You can then start making olive oil in Romestead.

How To Make Olive Oil In Romestead

Okay, so first things first, you need to craft the Olive Oil Dolium. It takes three Clay barrels to make, and you can find Clay over in Romestead. I spent a little while gathering it, so heads up!

Build a Manual Mill next to the Olive Oil Dolium if you haven’t built one already.

To begin making olive oil in Romestead, you’ll first need to gather olives. You can find olive trees throughout the starting area, and simply interacting with them or giving them a hit will cause the olives to fall. Next, open the Manual Mill, place the collected olives inside, and turn the crank to create olive paste – your first ingredient!

To create the empty pots needed for olive oil production, you’ll first need to construct a Pottery building. Make sure to place it close to your Material Storage, as workers will use the clay stored there to craft the pots.

Before you begin making pots, always start the furnace outdoors. Use materials like wood or, ideally, coal to fuel it. Once the furnace is going, you can head inside the Pottery to create your empty pots.

If you can’t see anything to craft, make sure you assign a worker in the building.

With your empty pots ready, position them beside the olive paste within the Olive Oil Dolium. This will allow you to consistently produce olive oil in Romestead.

The process will run automatically, so you only have to wait after you input the required items.
