Summary
- Once Human received a new update on April 12.
- While the lack of version number changes clearly labels this patch as a minor release, the update still introduces a decent number of changes in the form of nearly a dozen bug fixes, performance improvements, and exploit plugs.
- The pace of Once Human updates has been ramping up as of late, perhaps due to the game’s much-anticipated mobile port, which is scheduled to arrive on April 23.
On April 12, there was an update for the game Once Human. This update addressed and resolved close to a dozen identified problems, giving the game a shiny finish as it prepares for its broader launch.
Initially launched by NetEase’s Starry Studio in July 2024, the game “Once Human” was initially exclusive to PC platforms. Now, after nine months of exclusivity, this popular free-to-play game is set to expand its reach, with plans for release on Android and iOS devices on April 23.
Prior to the upcoming mobile release of Once Human, the widely appreciated open-world survival game received another update, this time released on Saturday, April 12. The update’s changelog includes 11 items, primarily focusing on resolving bugs. One issue it addresses is a task progress blocker that occasionally appeared after surviving a Securement Silo on Nightmare difficulty. Additionally, it rectifies an oversight causing players to continuously receive error messages when opening report descriptions.
Once Human Updates Are Ramping Up
The April 12th update represents the second update for the game “Once Human” within a five-day span, a speed that is quite swift, even by Starry Studio’s usual pace. Notably, both of these recent updates were minor releases, as evidenced by the fact that neither adjustment altered the game version number, which has remained the same since the 1.4.4 update for “Once Human” was introduced in late March 2025.
Apart from addressing bugs, the mid-April update tackles some performance issues, such as a glitch that caused stuttering when playing Aero Leap during sprinting or rolling. Starry Studio has also rectified an in-game store bug where the weekly limit for purchasing the Once Human Scenario Exit Card wouldn’t reset. Furthermore, this update gets rid of a method to bypass Securement Silo – SIGMA and acquire its rewards prematurely.
This latest update for the game “Once Human” should delight players using controllers, as it fixes a pesky glitch where the Talk feature became unresponsive when the game detected a gamepad. Additionally, issues with Shadow Gatling respawn blockers and the World Map acting erratically have been tackled in this patch. It’s speculated that further updates may be released by Starry Studio before “Once Human” makes its mobile debut.
