One Piece: 7 Strongest Pirates From Luffy’s Era, Ranked

The world of One Piece has gone through many periods of change, and each new era brings a fresh wave of powerful pirates eager to make their mark on the seas. Currently, Monkey D. Luffy, the series’ main character, leads this generation, and he’s clearly among the strongest pirates of his time. He’s not the only powerful young pirate, though; many others are competing for the incredible treasures the sea holds, including the ultimate prize: the One Piece.

Capone Gang Bege

  • Pirate Crew: Firetank Pirates

I’ve heard a lot about Capone Bege – he’s definitely one of the strongest pirates to emerge recently. He comes from the West Blue and leads the Firetank Pirates. With a bounty of 350 million berries, he’s proven to be a serious threat. Interestingly, he used to be part of Big Mom’s crew, acting as a high-ranking officer. But things changed, and now he’s sailing the New World independently.

Bege’s Devil Fruit, the Shiro Shiro no Mi, lets him transform into a remarkably tough castle, capable of withstanding attacks from the entire Big Mom Pirates crew simultaneously. He also has a hidden dimension within his body. These abilities make him a very effective fighter. Though not the strongest, he’s definitely one of the most overlooked characters from the same generation as Luffy.

Jewelry Bonney

  • Pirate Crew: Bonney Pirates

Jewelry Bonney is an incredibly powerful pirate, even at just 12 years old. As a member of the Worst Generation, she has a bounty of 320 million berries, which is remarkable for someone so young.

She possesses a unique Devil Fruit ability called the Toshi Toshi no Mi, letting her temporarily make any possible future a reality. This allows her to mimic powerful techniques like Gear 5 or even transform herself briefly into a skilled warrior. Despite her young age, she’s also highly proficient in Haki. Combining these abilities makes her one of the most formidable pirates among those in Luffy’s era.

Sanji

  • Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates

Sanji is a powerful member of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the strongest fighters in the One Piece world. He comes from the Vinsmoke family and, like his brothers and sisters, was genetically engineered before birth.

Sanji is an incredibly powerful fighter. As the ‘Warrior of Science,’ he has a durable exoskeleton and exceptional strength, capable of defeating even powerful commanders of the Yonko. He’s also mastered advanced Haki, allowing him to cover his body in intense flames. Sanji has become strong enough to compete with the Admirals and Yonko, though he hasn’t quite surpassed them yet.

Roronoa Zoro

  • Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates

Similar to Sanji, Zoro is one of the core fighters of the Straw Hat Pirates and is just as important as their chef. He’s striving to be the greatest swordsman in the world, which means he needs incredible power. Zoro fights using three legendary swords: Wado Ichimonji, Enma, and Sandai Kitetsu.

Zoro is incredibly skilled in all three forms of Haki, though he’s still developing his control over Conqueror’s Haki. However, wielding the sword Enma allows him to unleash a surprisingly strong burst of this powerful ability. He’s proven himself against some of the strongest fighters in the One Piece world, defeating opponents like King and even leaving a mark on Kaido. While he can compete with the Yonko, the most powerful pirates, he hasn’t quite reached their level yet.

Eustass Kid

  • Pirate Crew: Kid Pirates

Eustass Captain Kid is one of the most dangerous pirates originating from the South Blue. He’s a leading figure in the new generation of pirates, with a bounty of 3 billion berries – putting him on equal footing with Monkey D. Luffy in terms of threat level. Kid possesses immense power thanks to his Devil Fruit, the Jiki Jike no Mi, which gives him the ability to manipulate magnetism.

Kid has a Devil Fruit power that he awakened sometime before his fight with Big Mom, allowing him to battle and defeat one of the strongest pirates, an Emperor of the Sea, alongside Trafalgar Law. Though he was ultimately defeated by Shanks, Kid remains a remarkably powerful pirate. He also has mastered all three types of Haki, and while his full potential hasn’t been revealed yet, he’s expected to become an incredibly formidable force on the seas.

Trafalgar Law

  • Pirate Crew: Heart Pirates

Trafalgar Law, nicknamed the Surgeon of Death, is a formidable pirate originally from the North Blue in the world of One Piece. He possesses the incredibly powerful Ope Ope no Mi Devil Fruit, which lets him create a special area called a ‘ROOM’ where he has complete control over everything inside – from his opponents to the surrounding environment.

Law has unlocked the full potential of his Devil Fruit ability, giving him incredible control over space and the power to inflict damage from within his opponents’ bodies. He’s also skilled in two advanced forms of Haki. This combination of abilities makes him a formidable opponent, capable of seriously harming even the strongest pirates like Blackbeard and Big Mom. Though currently not as powerful as Monkey D. Luffy, Law is a rival with the potential to become even stronger.

Monkey D. Luffy

  • Pirate Crew: Straw Hat Pirates

I’m a huge One Piece fan, and let me tell you, Monkey D. Luffy is an absolute beast! He’s easily the strongest character in the current generation. Being one of the Yonko is proof enough, but honestly, his bounty of 3 billion berries really undersells just how powerful he’s become. It’s a joke, really!

Luffy possesses the incredibly powerful Hito Hito no Mi, Model Nika, a Mythical Zoan fruit that lets him transform into the Warrior of Liberation – essentially a god. He’s also mastered all three advanced forms of Haki, putting him on equal footing with the strongest pirates, the Yonko, and even allowing him to defeat them. Currently, Luffy is among the most powerful characters in the One Piece world, but he’s still developing and will undoubtedly become even stronger as the story progresses.
