This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

Summary

  • Nico Robin sees the results of Ohara’s efforts at the Owl Library.
  • Elbaf progresses towards trade over war, away from barbarian ways.
  • Shanks’s twin makes a shocking appearance in Elbaf, hinting at intense events to come.

In today’s release, Chapter 1134 of “One Piece” unfolded, marking the final installment penned by Oda in the year 2024. It goes without saying that this chapter was a perfect platform for Oda to deliver an unexpected twist, leaving fans astounded and their minds spinning on the very last page. The chapter predominantly centered around Nico Robin and Saul’s ongoing conversation within Owl’s Library, while also delving into other aspects of Elbaf.

As I reached the climax of the arc, nothing could have prepared me for the jaw-dropping unveiling by Oda – the mastermind behind One Piece – of the true villains! Now, I can confidently say that Elbaf has taken its intensity to a whole new level, leaving me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.

The Visit To The Owl Library

  • Nico Robin got to see the results of Ohara’s efforts
  • Saul and the Giants preserved all the books

I wasn’t shocked at all when chapter 1134 of One Piece unveiled the grandeur of the Owl Library! We’d been hinted about it for quite some time, and even got a glimpse in chapter 1133. It was only a matter of time before we got to see this marvelous place, and I think most of us were eagerly awaiting its reveal. And let me tell you, the Owl’s Library did not disappoint!

All books brought in here are immediately gigantified! – Saul

In this installment, Brook, along with Chopper, accompanied Robin to the library, leaving Sanji behind to guard Nami. This chapter also revealed Luffy’s formal encounter with a Titan named Ripley. As the story unfolds, it’s evident that Elbaf is undergoing significant transformations over time. However, the initial emphasis in the narrative was on the enchanting Owl’s Library. Upon entering this library, any book instantaneously grows to gigantic proportions. The method behind this transformation remains a mystery, but it seems to have some connection to Devil Fruit powers. It is worth noting that all books from the island of Ohara were rescued and relocated to Owl’s Library by Saul and the Giant Warrior Pirates.

In simpler terms, this implies that although the people of Ohara lost their homes and lives in a devastating event, their legacy continues to thrive and they can still be considered victorious. This historical lesson is currently being shared throughout an entire nation and has potential to spread globally as well.

The Times Have Changed In Elbaf

The Children Of Elbaf Want Trade Over War

During their visit to the Owl’s Library, Robin and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates left Luffy, Usopp, and some other crew members behind as they trekked through Elbaf. Along the way, they encountered children’s playgrounds, which was an unexpected sight given the Giants’ traditional focus on combat. Fans were intrigued to discover that Ripley, a Giant woman introduced in One Piece chapter 1134, is among the many who have turned away from violence and are now more interested in academics and other pursuits. The last century has seen Elbaf making significant strides towards modernization, transitioning away from its barbaric past, a decision that was inspired by the late King Harald’s wish to establish trade with neighboring lands and embrace progress. This revelation took Usopp and Luffy by surprise, but it serves as a reminder that Elbaf, like any place in the One Piece world, has its fair share of good and bad people, debunking the common belief among many in the One Piece universe that all Giants are brutish and evil.

The Great King Harald once said, trade with other countries instead of war! – Ripley

It’s evident that Oda is steering this plot towards a specific destination, and though King Harald has passed away, his vision persists, as demonstrated in the latest chapter. His aspiration for Elbaf to advance progressively will eventually be realized, but we’ll have to keep reading to find out how.

In King Harald’s context, chapter 1134 of One Piece delved into his son, Loki. In the Underworld, Loki was seen communicating with someone via a Den Den Mushi, and it turned out to be Shaggy. The identity of Shaggy remains unknown to fans, but it’s clear that Shaggy is experiencing some form of distress from a recurring dream. It appears that Shaggy has experienced something painful in the past, and Loki shows empathy towards them.

He also admitted that if he were in Shaggy’s situation, he would have destroyed them all. However, Loki seems to have a compassionate heart hidden beneath his tough exterior, suggesting that he may not be the antagonist of the Elbaf arc and could possibly have an important role to unfold in future events.

Shanks’s Twin Arrives In Elbaf

Finally, Shank’s Twin Brother Has Made An Appearance

In the final moments of chapter 1134 of One Piece, something thrilling occurred as a bolt of lightning struck Elbaf Village’s enormous castle. Inside this castle, viewers could see a giant summoning circle enveloped by flames. Simultaneously, two figures cloaked in robes appeared from the summoning circle. This was reminiscent of Saturn emerging from a circle on Egghead, suggesting a connection to the World Government. Although the identity of the hooded figure was initially unclear, in the closing panels of the chapter, Oda revealed one of them to resemble Shanks. The other character remains unknown and is a brand new figure.

The latest chapter of One Piece has provided an answer that many fans have been eagerly waiting for: Shanks indeed has a twin, and it is this character who interacted with the Five Elders in chapter 907 of One Piece. For now, we can only speculate about why his twin resides on Elbaf. It could be that he carries a message from the World Government to the Giants, signaling danger to come.

In the forthcoming chapters of “One Piece,” it appears that character could have arrived to confront Luffy personally, aiming to seize the Nika-Ki-no-Tsubo for all. The tension is set to escalate significantly, and as fans, we just need to remain patient while Oda unfolds these captivating developments. Regrettably, “One Piece” will be taking a hiatus, along with Shonen Jump magazine during the holiday season. Chapter 1135 of “One Piece” is scheduled for release in the year 2025.

You can access “One Piece” through Viz Media. Fans can read it officially and at no cost on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. The next chapter, “One Piece 1135,” is scheduled for release on January 5, 2024.
